Why can't I have such a good friend like you? This a very nice thing you are doing for your friend, and it takes a lot of stress off the bride. A wonderful thing for sure.
4 weeks if you have no one expected to come that lives out of town or state.....
6 weeks if you do have quests that will be traveling, Aunts, Uncles, friends, so they can have plently of time, to get off from work, book a hotel, make all the travel plans that they will be needing.....
I just can't keep thinking how sweet it is of you to do this for your friend......
God bless us all................

Send out the invitations 1 month before the wedding to give people time to send them back. Also put inside the envelopes the date they MUST reply by. Also write a list of all the guests names and one by one when the invitations are returned check them off the list. Then as the deadline date approaches call people you havent heard from in case their invitations got lost in the mail or they just forgot to send them back.

Hi. You send a RECEPTION INVITATION....which, obviously differs from the wedding invitation. There are examples on the internet of wording. Here is one example: Sarah Jo Johnson and Brian Thomas Smith invite you to a celebration in honor of their marriage Saturday, the fifth of September Two thousand nine Six o'clock in the evening Golf Shores Country Club 111 Golf Shores Drive Tampa, Florida Sarah and Brian will be married in a private ceremony earlier in the day. Of course, this is just an example. Use Google and type in "reception invitation wording." There are lots of examples. You can also make it more informal by not spelling out the day, time, etc. Hope this helps!

Send the invitations first to the people who stay far from your place before 2 or 3 weeks. People and friends staying close-by now you can send the wedding cards just before 1 or 2 weeks. Don't forget to write correct address on the card.

The standard is 6 - 8 weeks. If you have a lot of out of town guests make it 8 - 10 so that they have time to find accommodations. Don't send invitations any earlier than that. You have to give time for a response but not enough time to forget the date. If you want send save-the-date cards to out of towners they can be sent as early as 6 months ahead of time.

Why on earth is she having a friend do her invitations? That's very strange. The hosts of the wedding are supposed to do that.

The average time is I believe 6 weeks, with an RSVP date about 3 weeks before. And I'm sure you won't want to sit down and do them all in one sitting, so if you're making them, I think you should give yourself about 4 weeks for the making, assembling, and addressing.

Optimum time would be 6-8 weeks with a RSVP date about 2-3 weeks before the wedding.
Good luck!
