Personally I believe our soul leaves our body to go to judgment.

My own study of the Bible has convinced me that our souls or spirits go immediately into the presence of God when we die. The Apostle Paul wrote that those of us who are Christians "would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Although the Bible doesn't answer all our questions about life after death, it clearly tells us that we can look forward to heaven's joys when we die, if we know Christ. Shortly before His death and resurrection, Jesus told His disciples, "I am going there to prepare a place for you ... that you also may be where I am" (John 14:2-3). The Bible also says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

The most important truth I can tell you about heaven, however, is that we will be with God, and nothing evil or harmful will ever touch us again. In heaven, God "will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Revelation 21:4). Why would anyone not want to go there?

All this is possible because Jesus Christ took upon Himself the death and judgment we deserve when He died on the cross for us. And by rising from the dead, He showed that He has conquered death and Hell and Satan forever. Is your faith and trust in Him for your salvation? If not, commit your life to Him today.
The Bible doesn't answer all our questions about life after death—but it does tell us very clearly that that when we die we go immediately into the presence of the Lord if we know Christ. Paul's great hope was "to be away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).

How is this possible? It's possible for one reason: Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for our sins. You see, when He died on the cross, all of our sins—not some of them, but all of them—were transferred to Him. He was sinless, but He willingly took the punishment you and I deserve. The Bible puts it this way: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Let me illustrate it this way. Suppose you went to the bank and borrowed a large sum of money to buy a house. As long as you owed that debt, the house wouldn't really be yours, and you'd have to keep on paying. But then suppose someone came along and paid off your debt. Would you keep on making payments to the bank? No, of course not—because the debt had already been cancelled.

In a far greater way, we are all guilty before God, and our sins have created a debt to Him we can never repay—never. But listen: Jesus Christ has already paid it—completely and fully! The debt has been cancelled! Why fear death any longer? Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ today.
The Bible tells us a glorious truth: Not only will our souls live forever, but if we know Christ, one day God will give us new bodies—bodies that will never perish, or ever experience sickness or pain again.

No, I can't imagine exactly what this will be like—but I know it's true, for God has promised it. When Christ rose from the dead, He had a new body—similar to what it had once been, and yet in other ways different. No longer was He limited by time and space, for example. The same will be true of us, for someday God "will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body" (Philippians 3:21).

Every obituary ... every cemetery ... every twinge of pain reminds us that someday this life will be over and we will enter eternity. Tragically, however, many people never think about death or bother to prepare for it. But denying it or ignoring it won't make it go away. The Bible warns, "Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).

But listen: We don't need to fear God's judgment—not if we know Christ! The reason is because He took upon Himself our judgment and our Hell when He died on the cross for us. All our sins were transferred to Him, and He died in our place. Make sure of your salvation by giving your life to Christ today.

Our hearts stop beating. Our brains cease activity. Our bodies begin to decay. Beyond that, all is speculation. I have a hope based on my faith. I have a hope that I will become one with God forever. Jesus says that Love conquers death.

I wonder what you think happens at judgment. Did Jesus tell you and your heart confirm it?

It is natural to feel fear toward what we are unable to understand. It creates a tension that asks for some sort of answer to comfort us. I encourage you, if you can, to transcend that fear and let the God of Love bathe you in a comfort that assures you that whatever it is like, it will be okay.

If not, if you need an answer, then I would urge you to only be concerned about how you would face a judgment. Its really no one else's business about how God will judge others, if indeed that is coming (and I'm not so certain that it is). A focus on the afterlife takes energy away from the here and now. We are called to love one another. That is plenty to be struggling with for a whole lifetime.

Compassion and Peace to you friend.

if ur body's cremated then u go to a place, i'd rather call it a judgement place where they judge u based on all the deeds that u did during ur life and upon them tell u where to go, if u more good deeds than bad deeds, then u go to heaven, if u have more bad deeds than good deeds, then u go to hell or ur incarnated into some other life form back on earth until u complete this whole cycle for another 80 million times and after that u achieve the most perfect life form believed to be created by God, the human form, being a human u get this one chance after every 80 million times this one chance of being human so u can worship God and do good stuff.
In other cases, if ur body's buried beneath the earth, then it's believed that u fall into a long sleep until the end of world where u will be judged.

Your soul is another man-made fantasy, just like the rest of religion. After you die you become part of the universal compost heap. How do you know that God (for you believers) really cares about human beings?

Imagine this. You’ve just bought a new home which you furnish with all sorts of nice fittings and fixtures, then prepare the grounds and garden. You plant a wide range of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and vegetables. You clip and prune as time goes on, spray the weeds, and generally keep your property in good shape.

Many years pass and your gardens are flourishing, not a weed to be seen anywhere. You head off on holiday, a weed pops up and bugs start to crawl all over it. Not to worry, when you return home you spray the gardens, killing all the bugs and weeds. Everything is back to normal.

Now consider the universe. After billions of years a little planet (weed) called Earth pops up and it’s crawling with bugs called humans. Do you really think the gardener (or creator) really cares about the bugs and weeds? Do you think the gardener cares if he destroys you? Do you think that the bugs (humans) on the weed (Earth) have any idea what’s going on in the rest of garden (universe)? What happens to all human beings is just the same as what happens to all bugs and weeds – universal compost.

there are different views about what happens after we die. in my view our body remains in this earth and our soul which never dies after a judgment(you can say that) takes re-birth again. so death is just like changing new clothes in place of worn and torn clothes. here cloths means our body.

As per muslim's believe after we die God will ask us what good or bad we have done in the world. And he will give us reward of (Paradise) or punishment of (Hell). And we will have to stay in paradise for rest of our life or in hell till our punishment ended...

We cross over to live in the love of the Lord. Judgment, sin, and hell are man made terms, not God made!

I honestly do not know because the only way anyone will ever know is when they die. Until then, people is always going to assume that things is going to happen.

I think we are re-born. It's a continuous cycle. Just like everything else.
