Take it down in the autumn (around the end of September and into October) as the weather is changing and the birds are starting their southerly migration. If you leave it up longer than that, the hummers may stay around for the free food source, miss the migration with their buddies to a warmer climate, and freeze to death in the winter.

after about a week and i've not seen any then i take it down,,but i'm still getting them really good.
