Do you dislike when people complain about living in the United States of America?

I was adopted from another country at an early age by American citizen parents. I really appreciate living here and all that this country provides. I don't believe i would have the same opportunities living anywhere else. I often hear people complaining so much about how bad this country is, this and that. I want to say to many people. If you don't like it here, move! This is not like North Korea where they keep their citizens as prisoners. I don't necessarilly agree with the US governments handling of issues like the war, but ppl just quit complaining! shut up or ship out.

I agree with you. Maybe if we complained to the right people -- our representatives, congressman, etc. -- and gave them sound, solid arguments for our concerns, we could get a whole lot more done than just sitting around griping to each other.

Well being from a Country that is quantitively ranked higher than the US, I as well complain when I have to go to your country. If you could make more of your country look like San Fran, its clean, unlike Fort Worth Texas, Buffalo NY, New York, (ARM) Pittsburg PA, people would have less to complain about. Same if you have insurance, if it’s not the best they may not approve you of the best care you may get the second or third best. That is why the countries with a socialist medical system are always above you because we are healthier, happier. We can send our money on things we need instead of squirreling it away for that "what if I get sick" scenario. We help our own. Your me, me, me has divided your country from the inside. You stand together on an exterior problem in your protectionist ways, but you segregate the have and have not’s, and you make the have not’s even worse then they are now. Please if you want to see what we complain about, go and visit the 9 countries that are profoundly greater then yours and see why people are happier. They may not be richer ($), but they are happier, healthier people with a cleaner city (unlike that horrible smell in New York City that takes about 5 days to get use to).

The people who complain are the ones that is having a hard time. I feel like America is a great country because everyone is given an opportunity, it does not matter what race you are.

Even people who come here illegally, have it good. You can't sneak into other country's and given an opportunity's like America. I do agree with you..

However, the people that are doing the most complaining are the ones that are doing all the crimes and illegal things and it is not fair.

I don't like it when rich people complain about where they live here. If you have ever seen a poor town, then you would know that some people have a reason to complain. Some people that I know have to work 3 jobs just to make ends meet. They have a reason to complain. Rich people have no reason to complain because they have all of the advantages that there are.

One of the many freedoms we have here is the freedom to complain about what's not right. I do think a lot of people take their quality of life here for granted, but it's also our duty as citizens to hold our country to the highest possible standard. If that means being vocal about the things we see our government mishandling, then that in itself is a form of patriotism (assuming you're actually taking advantage of the right and responsiblity to vote... THAT'S what makes me angry, the people who piss and moan about the government but have never bothered to cast a vote in their lives.)
