If you show up and they are selecting from a pool. There is a good chance you won't be picked. You go home and get an $8 check in the mail. That's as good as serving and you are exempt for 90 days on a state, 6 months on a federal jury. If you get picked, explain immeditaely to the judge in the courtroom you can not hear. You will get dismissed, a 40 check and the same exemption as above.

Here's one I used to get out of jury duty in Michigan: I asked to be excused on the grounds that I'm a paralegal specialist with an extensive background in criminal litigation (which is true) so I don't believe I can simply forget all my experience when determining guilt or innocence.

One year I was called 7 times, about 3rd time I was getting tired of being called. My Job was not paying for Jury Duty. U have to go, but once the selection process started, u could eliminate yourself my saying you are racist, do not like women with kids depends on the trial. The 3rd time I worn a t-shirt that said **** Happens, is was a murder trial. I was not selected.

Move to a country that does not allow the privilege, or grant its citizens the significant responsibility of jury service.

Having a young child to take care of is one of the reasons they allow. When you can serve, you should serve.

say you suffer from panic attacks and clostrophobia. that will work - well it did ifor a friend in England!
either that and say you have family members who are in the police force and you are very pro-police.
Ive heard jury service is terribly boring and a waste of a week.

when they interview you tell them you read in the paper that the defendant was guilty before you hear the case, they will toss you out on your ear. Then you and i can go to the derby at play the ponies.

Here's how my g-father used to get out of it.
During the survey part, he would tell them that "I can spot a guilty person just like THAT. Besides, if they weren't guilty, they wouldn't be here in the first place!"

watch tv or read the news, i heared if you're a jury, you can't read anything about the case, so just read about it, and have them find out, then you'll get out (BUT, i don't know if there will be any penalties, i don't think so, but i do not know).
good luck.

Go serve.
Once you have served, most courts will allow you to not serve for a period of time afterward.
