For anyone wondering I do mean the Christian bible. I have read places it says that God wants us to obey Him and believe in Him but where does it say anything about a relationship with Him? People are always talking about God wants to have a relationship with people.

Hello there....
This is a good question and I'm glad you asked.
I am a born-again Christian who doesn't have all the answers....but knows a really good book that does.....the infallible Word of truth...the bible.
Ephesians 3:19 says:

"to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

There isn't one particular place in scripture that testifies to the fact that God wants us to know Him personally....but rather...scripture as a whole tells us this. The bible says that we love Him because He first loved us.....not vice versa.....we're not capable as sinful, human beings of loving God first.....it had to start with Him.

So....the complete message of scripture is for us to know God better through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. There is no other way to the Father or to Heaven....but through Jesus.

I hope this helps a little.

The Bible isn't something extra effective than a historic account of the activities that bring about the creation of Christianity. that's like reading a background e book. the classes which would be found out from the previous are huge yet while the Bible is study and introduced out of context then what solid did reading it fairly do? i do no longer think of that God fairly cares regardless of if or no longer one has study the Bible or no longer. The Bible serves as a handbook to Christians and a source for individuals to examine with regard to the previous in basic terms like all solid background e book. The Bible, even nonetheless, isn't the entire tale and should not be the only e book study interior the pursuit of understanding.

Romans 8 and Galations 4 illustrate this best, I think (parallel passages). In these passages, it basically states that all the work God did through Jesus was to give us full rights as children. We are entitled to call out to God, as his children in a personal way. Abba is the English equivalent of daddy. So literally, Jesus' work gives us access to God, just as a child can come before his daddy.

Galatians 4
4But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, 5to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba,[a] Father." 7So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Well I'm not sure if there is any exact Scriptures that say "God wants to have a relationship with you." However the whole theme of the new testament could be that. God sent himself or his is son in human form unto earth so that we may be with him, and he with us. Jesus enables us to go directly to god, to speak to god. Because of his grace we can now no longer be split from god. So when you think of that the whole reason Jesus came down was so that God could be with us, and heal our relationship it will show itself. It's more a big picture kinda thing.

Seek
Everyone seeks something in life but few know how to find it. The Truth is that God has been seeking you.
Jesus "came to seek those who are lost " Luke 19:10
God want everyone to be saved and understand the truth
1 Timothy 2:4
Now it is up to you to seek Him (Jesus)

We have all decided to try life our way but God wants us to try it His way. God provided us a way to know Him and that way is thorough His son Jesus.
All of us have strayed away like sheep ( Isaiah 53:6)
The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life though Jesus Christ. ( Romans 6:23)
In John 4:6 it says which is Jesus talking "I am the way the truth and the life no one can come to the Father (God) except though me (Jesus) God's son.
Tell God that you have done things wrong in your life. Put your trust in HIm and give your whole life to Him.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. ( Roman 10:9)
If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. ( Jer 29:13)
For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. (Luke 11:10)

I hope this explains your question refering to understand a relationship with Jesus which is the Son of God. AKA the Trinity God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit that these are all the same. God is God the creator. Jesus is the Son of God and the Holy Spirit comes to us a guide when we accept Jesus as our personal savior. This is the short version . for me email me or ask more questions and I will reply. Thanks <><

Hebrews 4:15-16
15 Our Religious Leader understands how weak we are. Christ was tempted in every way we are tempted, but He did not sin. 16 Let us go with complete trust to the throne of God. We will receive His loving-kindness and have His loving-favor to help us whenever we need it.

How many verses do you want/need? There's plenty!

A few:

John 7:37 (KJV)
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 13: 20-25

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples [John/added], whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

Are you kidding me? Worshipping and sacraficing everything that you love for that someone who never responds to you and only seem to bring you trouble is more relationship-like than anything else I've ever seen.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him: If any one love me, he will keep my word. And my Father will love him and we will come to him and will make our abode with him.

John 14:26. But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.

Matthew 28:20. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

John 16:13-15. But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will teach you all truth. For he shall not speak of himself: but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak. And the things that are to come, he shall show you. He shall glorify me: because he shall receive of mine and shall show it to you. All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine. Therefore I said that he shall receive of me and show it to you.
