NO! That would teach it to cry and it will get a reward...unless it is hurt, leave him there...Especially at night, you have to break them of the crying habit...crate training is a good thing. It's just tough to hear all that crying...you just want to cuddle them but it's so much better in the long run.

No, crate training is best. But how old is your puppy exactly, and how long have you had him/her? If she/he's still pretty young and recently weaned off his mother he might be longing for Mommy. In that case try these few things:
1) Put a ticking alarm clock in the crate with the puppy, it will be a surrogate for Mom's heartbeat.
2) Also put a warm water bottle with a towel in there as well, will give the feel of mommy's tummy and warmth to the puppy.
Both of these should help with the crying, not completely but it should help. Also make sure that the puppy had been put out potty right before they've been put in for the night. They have small bladders, etc. when they're that young, and they may whine simply because they have to go potty!

All puppies need attention, but if you put in there at night so that your not cleaning up messes all night, then no let it cry. Give it a month and the puppy will get use to being in there. Make sure you give it pleanty of play time out of the crate. It is important for the growth of the puppy for it to play.

You don't give enough information. How old is your puppy? How long are you expecting it to stay in the crate? Does it cry as soon as you put it in?
If you're putting your puppy in the crate at night, no you absolutely don't let him out when he cries because you're conditioning him to cry. He'll learn real quickly that if he cries, you'll let him out.
Put some of his toys in the crate, and maybe even a treat and he will eventually get used to his crate.

hmmm why is he crying? Does he have to go outside? The first three months after puppies have been weaned from their mothers are the most important - as far as bonding with a person.
I left my puppy in her crate only at night and for "naps" (times when I was out of the house) the rest of the time she was in my lap a lot for the first three months...to bond with me.
She is now 4 years old...definately my buddy and now no longer needs a crate at all

Hi My name is Angie and i am a Vet Tech, I myself just got a Boston Terrier puppy. The ANSWER is NO , If you let the pup out everytime he or she crys. You will be starting a BAD habit.Dogs are alot smarter them you think. Try this when he or she crys depending on age. Take him or her out side to go potty. or on the wee wee pad. As soon as he or she goes outside or on the wee wee pad. Give praise and let play outside of crate for a few mins.Them right back in cage. If the pup does nothing outside or on wee wee pad. Put pup back in cage and repeat. So evertime pup crys take him or her out to go potty. My puppy is 3months old. And does the same, i take him ouside to go potty. He realized that when he does go potty he gets rewarded with playtime. So now, not only is he trained at 3months to go outside. But also will let me know when he has to go.Just try it. It might and might not work for you.

NO! Dogs are very smart animals. He will learn that he can walk all over you if you give him what he wants. Give it 2 weeks and things will get much better. I kentle trained my dog and went through the same thing. Now, he loves his kentle and sleeps and goes to it on his own.

Then he'll be training you to open the crate when he cries.
You can train the dogs, then again , the dogs can train you, without you realizing it!!
