I read somewhere that Leonardo Da Vinci drew plans for a primitive helicopter and thought up other things that weren't put to practical use for centuries after he died. Could someone give me some info on this?

I personally do not know about the helicopter but i read a magazine saying that he invented the first scissors.

Hi Nice guy,,,, yes he made sketchs of a helicoptor,,, not like what we have but similar,,,,, and a parachute also,,, I suggest you type in his name and look at some of what comes up,,,, there should be plenty there to read about....
