I totally understand where you're coming from on this, and I agree. But it would probably be a lot clearer to the average person if you pointed out examples for everyone to pick apart and deny or affirm.

I am a Muslim, and Islam doesn't have any conflicts with those benefits offered by science. Science is a bless from God. Humans have to use it for good purpose. But yes, when science says something which is againt religious facts, then it is not accepted. It is not any hypocrisy because science is not such a selfmade supenatural being that we have to put faith to whatever it says. God is the source of all knowledge. Science is a little part of this knowledge derived and evolved from human brains.
We will always deny that humans were evolved from apes and such other theories, and we will always benefit from science. It is no way any hypocrisy. If you are alluding to such scientific facts which are controversial, you should find how many other scientists tried to prove the theories wrong. So not all scientific theories are established.
Take a look at science. Pluto was a planet for last 70 years. But now?
This is called science.

I find science fits very nicely in leading to the conclusion there exists a God.
As for alleged "hypocrisy" issue: Why shouldn't I receive part of the benefits of science? While I benefit from nuclear power generating electricity for my home, I also pay for that electricity and also pay by living near a potential environmental hazard. I also grew up in the Cold War and the possibility of nuclear warfare. So I paid for those benefits of science, thank you.

i have no problem with sciences...i enjoy my car, the computer, the phone i can do without, medicines and the like...but if you are pointing to the theory of evolution, then there are gaping holes in the theory...for example, the evolution of the eye...evolution cannot explain that, or the nervous system for that matter, or even DNA...which is the most basic attribute of life...if you find an arrow head on the ground, are you going to automatically think that the wind and rain formed it that way? i would sure hope, becuase it is clear that it was made and designed...even the simplests of cells shows evidence of design.

Science is not a problem for me as a Christian. Any truth that science can "discover" is only truth that is revealed by God since He knows all and is the Creator of all. "Every good and perfect gift is from the Father." I appreciate all that He has given me, including wonderful inventions and medical advances. You might be surprised and interested to discover all these "goodies" that you have that have come through the minds and talents of those who have believed and followed Jesus Christ.

science is also damaging the ecosystem... hmm
*shrug* islam promotes science/knowledge to a certain degree. Why do you take advantage of the many inventions/science discoveries revealed in the Quran that wasn't even accepted by the west(europe) until much later?

All good stuff!
Please don't call me a hypocrite, though.
If I believe in God, that has nothing to do with my telephone..I think that we both know that.
Again, why not visit the Science category? You are probably holding valued information that those folks can appreciate. You aren't really happy here anyway, why would you stay?

All science is from God... Thus all science is good... it is man that mis uses it and causes all the trouble. That is why we live in a poluted world... if science was used as God intended it we would all be living in peace and plenty.
