No man is perfect. Although the Christian is called to a life of perfection, and there is an enormous amount of hypocrisy in the Church today, your standard is unreasonable, as the Bible itself even says that Christians will struggle living the life of faith.

Romans 7 is a perfect testament to the struggle a Christian has living in between the old and the new.

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Though a Christian is called to perfection, he will never fully attain that which he has been called to apart from the Righteousness of Christ.

However, if you refer to those who practice what they feel and not what is Biblically evident, I have no quarrel with your objection.

The Crusades were a perfect example of religious zeal with no legitmate Biblical substance. Look into the Bible for yourself and you'll be surprised at what a Christian really is. Don't simply believe the mass media and the murmurings of others. Be Biblically persuaded, not intoxicated by the rumours of others.

From Wikipedia:

The original formulation of American fundamentalist beliefs can be traced to the Niagara Bible Conference (1878–1897) and, in 1910, to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church which distilled these into what became known as the "five fundamentals":

Inerrancy of the Scriptures

The virgin birth and the deity of Jesus

The doctrine of substitutionary atonement through God's grace and human faith

The bodily resurrection of Jesus

The authenticity of Christ's miracles (or, alternatively, his premillennial second coming)

In particular, fundamentalists reject the documentary hypothesis—the theory held by higher biblical criticism that the Pentateuch was composed and shaped by many people over the centuries. Fundamentalists assert that Moses was the primary author of the first five books of the Old Testament

The christian fundamentalist are no better for this country than the far left is. I prefer to call them the American Taliban. If they get there way, they will push America back 500 years. The immigrants who came here on the Mayflower were escaping religous persecution. And guess what? It's starting to happen all over again.

Only a very small percentage of Christians are fundamentalists. Most Christians now accept a more liberal interpretation of the Bible and take the stories in the Bible as parables.

So, when you hear of people bombing abortion clinics, you are seeing only a lunatic fringe of Christianity. All groups have a small percentage of lunatics.

Painting an entire group of people with a judgmental brush because of the actions of a few bad apples is never, ever a good thing.

The vast majority of Christians do not do things like bombing abortion clinics.

I'm sure you know that. I hope you do, anyway.

I would like to ad one other comment. Jesus was not just another religious leader. He did claim to be God. And if you but any faith in the Bible that is the only conclussion that you will come to. He was the only leader that did claim to be God, who sacrificed himself for his people and then was resurected from the dead to be witnessed by over 500 other people that have given us written records. Your whole future depends on what you do with him and his claims. If you die not believing on who he said he was and you are right and he wasn't who he said he was then you have lost nothing. But if you die not believing and He was right, then you have lost everything, most importantly everlasting life, in heaven with Him. Yet you have found an everlasting eternity in pain and agony in Hell. Consider this most important decision and seek the truth. Don't believe me or this little message, seek the truth, read some of the new testament and try and disprove it. He who seeks truth will find it.

Most people use "fundamentalist" as a derogatory term for any fervent religion follower...notice that the terrorist Muslims are also referred to as fundamentalists. Why? I am not sure.

NO, the Left is derived from the middle values of religion and enlightenment from philosophy that are kosher. in contrast to republicans that think of that's adequate to declare that they are Christian, or Jewish, the Left no longer purely communicate the communicate, yet walk the walk. The left strives to be closer to God, mutually as on the comparable time respects the freewill of adult males.
