I guess cohabitations as a "trial marriage" is popular nowadays, but I read a statistic that said people who live together first are more likely to divorce. I can't say I'm surprised - so many people don't see or treat marriage as a COMMITTMENT. So they start with something that can easily be broken and by the time they get to the real thing, they figure ANYTHING can be easily discarded.

This isn't a collar or a ball and chain deal... it is two people choosing to live the rest of their lives together as a unit. And yes, the man gets as much out of this as a woman.

And I'll get off my soapbox now.

If marriage is by trial I need another lawyer. Women cannot seem to understand why the dating just doesn't go on forever and ever after marriage -- she will never tell her husband what her feelings are about this as we are supposed to read her mind and know what to do. She will never understand what happened to the man she married and yet doesn't realize she herself has become a screeching harpee (that has gained thirty pounds). Then she will get depressed, then she will cheat only because that will give her a measurement of how much her husband loves her as related to the amount of misery he will be in when he finds out. Cohabitate? My @ss. No more emotional 'space mountian' rides for me. If a woman doesn't understand me, I DON'T CARE! I leave the toilet seat up, I watch TV and read the sports section everytime I damn well want to, I hang out with my friends, I drive too fast, I drink beer and I bar-b-que four nights a week.
I am also very lonely.......

If you get the right woman, you would actually like the chain. Nothing personally against cohabitation. I'm getting the whole thing though. I treat him so good-he wants it too!

No marriage is not that. Traditionally WOMEN were thought of as property and men most likely created marriage to keep a woman as property for no one else to have.
If you really feel that way then dont ever get married and tell any woman up front you date that you will never get married so they dont waste their time on you if they want marriage.

In today's society girls are raised seeing the mother have so much control and take it into their relationships. First off women wouldn't have so much control if men didn't let them and second you need to tell your girl that it's 50/50 and you won't tolerate a control battle as that would break a marriage real quick.

Your first step would be to go back to 4th grade and re-do your English class. Second thing, stay single. Chances are, you won't have a problem with that with the attitude you have now.

Sounds like you are having commitment issues.
No one says you HAVE to get married.
You can be all alone in your retirement home, wiping your own butt, when you grow old. lol
