In the bible God supposedly required animal sacrifices in the old testament, so animals were not at the top of His list. Now I don't put a lot of faith in a man made book myself. I am an animal lover though and eating meat is a contradiction. What can I say, I love steak and beef tacos. At least we use all of the cow for all kinds of things. I get up in arms about using animals for experiments, that is totally disgusting!

We have some different answers in the Bible:
1. We can just eat plants( Gen1. 29-30
2. We can also eat animals, but without their blood Gen. 9, 2-4a
3. We can eat plants and animals, even with their blod.
Mt. 15, 1-20; Mc. 7, 1-13
They are other and important ways for knowing what God says: other sacred books (Koran, Baghavad Ghita, Buda's sermons, Popol Vuh, and other traditions.
But the most important is what we really think is better for ourselves and for the planet and the universe.

In Christian theology, in the New Testament, Paul says let no man judge you in food or drink because those things are no longer "valid" in the New Convenant between man and God. In other words, abstaining for eating these things doesn't bring you closer to God. In Judaism, there was (and probably still is) a heavy emphasis on worshipping God through works, through what you did and did not do physically. In Christianity, there is a heavy emphasis on God's grace, because in believing in Jesus, you understand that nothing you could do on your own physically would save your soul-- only God's grace. So, what you eat, drink, etc isn't going to affect your salvation, because your salvation isn't dependent on what you do, only what you believe.

As a Christian, I believe that God will say "You're welcome" because I thank him for the food he gives me. According to the Bible (all verses are from the NIV)
Acts 10 "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean"
and
Mark 7 vers. 18-20
"Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him unclean? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body. What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean" In other words it is what you do to others, how you treat others, etc. that makes you a sinner in His eyes, not what you eat.

well, most of the established human groups with God-derived information (like religions) already have information on God's attitiude toward eating cows, pigs, chickens, snakes, etc
the judaic christian tradition contains revelation from God with specific instructions on what to eat and what not to eat
among the things God specifically instructs people at the time of Moses to eat, are cow and chickens, but NOT pigs
so, you see, if you bring religion any to anything, it always becomes complex

Well, in Leviticus he sets down the rules about what animals are for eating and it includes cows and chickens, so I'm thinking he's OK with that.

I stay in Floyd County Virginia and have lost chickens to predators. Raccoons and canines will dig issues up as you defined, yet while a canines killed your chickens it probable might have taken them away and you will possibly have by no ability stumbled on the continues to be. Coyotes are in my portion of Virginia, yet additionally they might take the entire fowl away to consume someplace extra secure than on your barn or backyard. Opossums will consume approximately something, and likewise dig up issues, and dig holes below partitions. If it occurs back, placed your capture interior your barn so as that as quickly as the animal crawls interior the process the hollow it dug it is going to bypass into the capture . it is likewise obtainable that one predator killed the chickens and yet another dug them up once you buried them. Owls have killed a number of my chickens. you could tell it became an owl because of the fact owls have a wierd way of eating. They consume the top first, then the neck and by ability of the time they get to what we expect of of because of the fact the solid portion of the fowl, the owl is complete and leaves something. yet owls won't dig a hollow below a wall. My ultimate guess is it became the two a raccoon or an opossum.

If you see someone beating a dog you would feel bad - because the dog feels pain.
Now go to a slaughter house and see if the cows are happy about being killed.
But then again the Pope eats meat so it must be okay.........not.

It depends on your religion. God is cool with chicken in all religions, I think. But in Judaism and Islam, pig is forbidden. And of course in Hinduism, cows are sacred.
