use registry mechanic & mcafee quick clean HD space less not more when compressed. De frag same why?

It may have to do with your system restore points ... I have found that when I do some of those maintenance steps, the system sets a restore point. You can go in and delete all but the latest restore point then reboot your computer and see what your HD space is then.
