I admit, I'm a bit on the fat side and am lazy. I try doing sit ups and push ups but they are just too hard for me. Should I keep working on them till I get better, or should I try some easier exercises then move up to sit ups and etc...? And what are some good exercises for people like me? Thanks!

Hi there!

The key to successful exercising is doing something you enjoy that gets you to move and not eat. Here are some ideas of exercise that you may enjoy.

Walking with ipod
DDR
Frisbee Golf
Basketball
Tennis
Golf (no cart)
Yard work
Shopping (no food court)

I think you get the idea.

This is exercise, but doesn't seem like it, thus, you will keep it up.
If you want to really lose weight, keep your calories below 1500 per day and stay active and you will start to notice changes within the week.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

I'm glad you clarified that you are on the fat side AND lazy. I really hate it when people assume that a fat person is always a lazy person because that just is not true.

Walking is a very good exercise. The whole point of exercise is repetition. Anyone can exercise for a day or two, but it takes discipline to maintain it day after day.

Good luck.

Fat dogs get fat because they eat to much. First talk to a vet on how many calories the dog needs in a day. Then read the dog food bag to see the calories per cup. Feed only dog food and low calorie treats like veggies. My dog responds to the word carrot like most dogs do to cookie. Weight the dog each week. If the dog is gaining weight cut the daily calories. Motivate the dog to exercise. Every healthy dog I have met has something that motivates it. This could be food, toys, praise, play/pray... Start slow. Take the daily amount of kibble and make the dog work for its food. Put the food in a Buster Cube. Work on obedience. Do not drag an out of shape dog on a long walk. Maybe start with walking to the end of the driveway. When you get there give the dog a jackpot reward and go back in. Slowly increase the distance you walk. All exercise should be interactive. Most dogs left alone in a backyard will lay down and go to sleep.

Go outside and walk around for a few minutes. I find that this gets rid of the laziness. Now, that takes care of half of your fat lazy problem. And once the lazy is gone, the fat will follow.

walking... it's easy, free and almost anyone can do it... i'm a fitness instructor and i HATE situps and pushups, they just suck.... try getting a pilates for beginners video (you don't need the $30 windsor one either, go for the denise austin or pilates for dummies, they're half the price)... pilates will work your abs and is much easier on your back and body. to firm up your arms do wall pushups as opposed to floor pushups... i think women just weren't built to do floor pushups! to firm up your legs do some leg lifts while watching tv and squats and buns squeezes while you're putting on makeup, doing your hair, washing dishes, anything that has you standing in the same spot for a few seconds.

start small and work your way up, don't feel like you have to walk 4 miles a day and do 50 situps to get a good workout... do what works for you ...and the no pain no gain philosophy is a bunch of crap too... work at your pace at your level.

by the way... if you're doing pushups, situps and working towards a better body you're not lazy... you're just taking baby steps.

good luck

the easiest exercise is to walk. Start with 20 minutes a day around your neighborhood. Increase it to 30 minutes when you feel you can do it. Do it at least 5 times a week.

start with something easier like walking/running. It also helps to do it with a friend, so you can both tell each other not be so lazy. Plus, you can chat with your friend while exercising. :)

Swimming is a great exercise for overweight people who find their body mass to much to exercise in a conventional way.

no excersize is good for a lazy person. Exersize with the intent of weight loss requires work, sweat and dedication to personal health. Try an eliptical machine. Try as many diffrent exersizes as you can and do what you feel is productive. If you can't find something you like go to a personal trainer.
