Do you have an anti-virus program such as Norton or McAfee? These programs are designed to scan, find and remove viruses automatically. Well worth the investment especially if you're going to be online!

If you can part with the data saved in the PC then re-imaging the hard drive is the best option. Otherwise the best option is to try some anti-virus on-line scan option. Starting the PC into safe mode and performing system restore will not fix the issue. Even backing up your files and re-imaging the hard drive has a chance of reinfection.

Why book man. C'mon call your software installer and tell him to install norton antivirus or the latest antivirus software he'll do it in minutes. You don't have to follow any book guide lines for that matter.

the easiest way is to go to health and support, system restore, and pick a date on hte calendar before you got the virus. if that doesnt work, i got nothing,
