It is funny about this Creation vs. Evolution. It seems that more and more scientist are now agreeing that the earth is younger than first thought. More and more are agreeing that Someone Great first created everything and then evolution mulitiplied it.

Good point...I believe that the creation story is not literal... It merely sets the stage for just a tiny piece of our existence in the evolutionary process, the Abrahamic (religious) era, of which we are hopefully in the final act.
When it is complete, history will have shown that religion will never never never cause peace, and the world will continue to evolve as it was before all this drama began.

Is it just possible that God used evolution to create the world? Is it possible that God created the starting blocks of the Universe and then set everything in motion. Is it just possible that 7 days does NOT mean 7 earth days.
Why do science (didn't God create the laws of science?) and religion always have to be opposites?

I believe that an evolutionary process took place within the framework of God's creative work.
I believe that God used this evolutionary process as a tool with which to carry his creative work to completion.
This belief is consistent with my Catholic faith -- the Church holds that such a thing is possible to have happened.
In fact, I believe Pope Benedict XVI is going to hold a symposium soon on this very subject.

A couple of gaps? That was funny. You made my day.
Get it into the gap between your ears - EVOLUTION IS A THEORY WITH HUGE HOLES THAT HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN.

Julia E has it right. Creation is not against Evolution, but rather both work together. This is called theistic evolution, and most mainstream Christians hold this view, especially Catholics.

Wow, pooh is an idiot...
The Earth is well over hundreds of billions of years old. Could you perhaps give us some of these 'scientists' that agree with it?

It isn't. Religious folk just like to say it is, because they know they're wrong but won't admit it.
