What do i feel? How do i feel about the irony of that? You don't really have a question here.
Cigerettes can't be advertised on TV because of old laws and how the tobacco companies never warned people about the dangers associated with it. Alcohol commercials on TV urge drinking responsibly, a far cry from the TV tobacco ads from the fifties.

I think it should all be limited. Know that TV ratings are common, I think alcohol advertising should be allowed only on shows intended for adults. It is nice now though(at least around here) for every alcholo advertisment we get to see one about drunk driving or the effects of alcohol. Kind of keeps everything in perspective. I still feel the cigarettes can be more harmful than drinking, when it is done in moderation.
Also, although it is not common, drinking is done in some commercials. I can remember a Bailey's one off hand, and I'm sure I've see others.

People always compare the two but really they're not comparable. Alcohol, if misused, can be a killer, but when drunk properly and in moderation does no real harm. On the other hand EVERY cigarette you smoke knocks six minutes of your life expectancy and that is proven fact. You can't smoke 'in moderation' but you can drink so.

no, but the government must protect the children from the dangers of cigarettes.... something the parents can't seem to do.

Even that has limits.
Ever notice, in all those commercials, for wines, beer, hard liquor, etc. no one actually drinks it?
