You really need to work with your physician and try a lot of different things to troubleshoot and see if you can see patterns of why/when they occur. Then try some different medications to see what works for you.

One of my friends has terrible migraines every month at the time of her period and takes shots of Imitrex. She says the Imitrex pills don't do a thing for her, but the shots works instantly.

I get migraines all the time. My remedy, a can of Coke, turn the lights down really low or off, put a cool washcloth over your forehead and eyes, and take about 3 ibproufen. After this, take a nap for atleast an hour or so. You should start feeling better when you wake up!

Try changing your diet. Many foods trigger migraine such as milk, cheese, ice cream (dairy products), chocolates, citrus fruits, foods with MSG (monosodium glutamate) such as canned/noodle soups and foods with nitrates such as cold cuts, bacon, saussages, corned beef etc. Other triggers of migraine are menstral cycle, alcohol, birth control pills and caffiene.
Please note that too much medication and pain killers can cause migraine to occur or re occur.
You need to find out what specific foods give you migraine. Nitrates are no good for you because they cause cancers as well so avoid all foods with nitrates. I eat a little chocolate sometimes and I feel fine however, I had oreo yesterday and woke up with a migraine thin morning (a mild one) so I am gonna drink lots of water and take it easy today. See these links please. All the best!

My wife has me draw really hot (barely touchable) water for her and then she places her feet in it. She says it doesn't remove the migraine, but it does make the pain bearable. This worked for my mother as well.

Usually this dulls the pain enough that my wife is able to sleep it off.

Take 1 Aleve, find a dark, quiet room, grab a cold towel and place it on your forehead, lay down and try to take a nap. That should make you feel a lot better.
