I don't think any chips are really "healthy" to eat, but if you're going to eat them, try choosing a baked variety. While not really healthy, it is a much better alternative to the body than regular fried chips. Baked chips come in many varieties and from many different dealers so you can probably find a type that you like. I know I really like the baked Cheetos. They're not as good as the fried, but they're a better choice if you're going to eat them.

If by healthy you just mean lower in fat, go with baked or even the fat-free olestra chips (just don't eat too many). If you mean fewer unnecessary additives, stay away from most national brands and look for organic or natural brands (Trader Joe's Hawaiian Style chips are quite good). As an alternative to potato chips, you could try pita chips. They don't taste like potato chips, but they are crunchy, salty and delicious.

Well, it's sort of a well-known fact that chips aren't a very healthy snack for you - that doesn't stop me from eating them - but you should go with the baked version. It'll say right on the bag if they are baked or not.

yeah baked or those that are made with less fattening oils, lower in trans fats.
i think everything in moderation is OK though, eat chips and other snacks just don't eat the whole bag in one sitting or get individual portions.
remember it is a snack and not a substitute for a meal, if your lifestyle is such that you are unable to get full meals you can use slim-fast for meal replacement and there are other nutrition bars that are just loaded with things too keep you healthy even if you not eating real meals.

Baked have less fat, but they are all pretty bad for you, too many preservatives. Go to Whole Foods Market, Henry's Market or Trader Joe's, I am sure you will be able to find something with less preservatives than regular chips.
