What if those of us who are regulars here met in real life at a bar and grille, what would happen, we would all introduce ourselves, would we go find our favorite avatar and talk, would we go off into little groups, would it erupt in to a big debate over the finer points of the Bible, would there be a big debate over evolution v creationism, would we notice "heh so and so was just here a minute ago, and where did that one girl whats her name go she was just here, she always answers so and so's questions, oops!"

Would we talk as people, would we hug? Would we say heh its nice meeting you, fun talking to you there on the yahoo answers.

Would we talk about football and baseball playoffs, and senate races around the country, would we talk about wars and rumors of wars in far off places.

Would we all meet at a bar and grill and shake hands and look one another in the eye and say, I respect you and thanks for being apart of my life?

I would be openminded and respectful to everyone but candykills. It would be really hard not to punch her.

Hey, at least I'm honest.

That's a good question. It probably wouldn't be the same as on here. You can be bold when there is no computer in front of you and people don't know who you are. But, in person is a whole different story. I bet a lot of these people that are just bumping their gums and offending people are the biggest squares (for lack of a better word) out there and this is the only place they are comfortable enough to speak. And, I don't think people really carrying hard feelings about what's said on here out in the real world. I think a lot (not all) of the people would get along for the most part as long as we didn't start a discussion on this topic. Then all hell (no pun intended) would break loose.

Better and Better!

This is an interesting question. I think the best way to go about this quetion is to ask another though... what would each of us do as individuals were we to knowingly run into eachother in a public forum of such... and then comprise the answer to this questino from the answers to this one.

Me, myself, I would prbably want to debate different religious beliefes- it is just how I am. I like to learn more. Yes, I do give alot of advie, and if someone were to ask me for some, I would give them the est that I could...

However there are so many different faiths tthat are regular, it would surley boil down into madness, with us all pulling eachothers hair and chewing on ears.

Well that all depends. Is everyone coming? If we wanted peace amongst us, those that threaten others would have to be dealt with. Who would do that? In person they could carry out their threats if left unchecked. So the first thing that would have to happen is an identification of physical threatenning people so that those of us who felt threatenned by them and needed a safe haven to express ourselves could do that. Passiveness is not enough to help this old world come to. People have to enjoy challenged peace, both the passifist and the aggressor. But if we got past that, if we gave protection to the non aggressors, if we gave them a forum for expression along with the aggressors, then the lions would be laying down with the lambs and we could make some real progress. I think there would have to be a general consensus that we would look for leadership, like a game show, worthiness to lead in a temporary manner, like a chat room only with more real voting of privilidge to speak amongst equal voting shares amongst those who have nothing physical to gain but each other's lives and amongst the least brainwashed that God's word has to be in some book only.

That's a beautiful notion, Jim :) As a matter of fact, that sounds just peachy right about now, as I could use a drink, and I'd love to meet many of the other folks around here :)

I would think that we'd all get along pretty well, those of us who cared enough to show up, no matter what we discuss. And I'd definitely enjoy thanking you in person for being a respectful and thoughtful friend :)

Here when my home work is done I am bored and can't leave.
Basically trapped at a computer. I am suposed to do further research and find questions that the public needs answered.
So while someone is reading the questions the rest of us are looking up answers. If we get out of this hell hole called school the last thing i would want to do is meet anyone i talk to on answers. You can get a life, until I am 18 i am stuck here.
So what is your excuse? vic

In some rare cases yes, but the mentality I have witnessed here is far removed from cozy chats and stimulating dialogue. As I stated, a few good apples would attempt to make it pleasant. Overall though , the bitterness and hate is so strong that it would quell buying that differing opinion a beer. Its to bad, this is a reflection of our current society. Peace.

I think it would be great, it's actually something I've done years ago in the late '90's. I think it would be very friendly and very fun but you'd also see what you see here.. some people would be more outgoing and some would be less because that is natural for them.. some people like to watch the debate more than participate.

I like to think we would. I certainly don't agree with a lot of the people and I pity them for having faith in a god, but still, I once believed to so I understand and would respect that they too are doing the best they can as human beings to understand their universe.

I can just imagine though, someone being a smartbutt and asking,

"Uh-oh, there's the whatshouldidoretard -- what should I do?"

i think of the clarification why maximum non secular human beings hate it while atheists are in this area is by the fact some [no longer all] has a tendency to make relaxing of religion. I propose, it is okay in case you come and say "Why do you have self belief in God? medical study has shown that [insert certainty right here]...." or arise with any clever element to talk approximately yet to easily communicate approximately something like 'Flying Spaghetti Monster' just to spite theists up is organic disrespect. all human beings has diverse sensitivities, some human beings are indignant by utilising racial jokes, some are no longer, some human beings choose to no longer communicate approximately their lifeless enjoyed ones, some do etc. all human beings needs to earnings to recognize human beings's limitations and sensitivities. :) of direction, the theists have additionally shown disrespect to others like forcing their faith upon others etc., that I won't deny [hardly in recent times, nonetheless, whether you're, you could consistently say you're no longer involved or something, they are no longer going to shoot you or kill you, a minimum of no longer in Western international locations] yet while the so 'morally noted as atheists' [who thinks us, non secular human beings, as uncivilised and morally retarded] thinks that when a guy or woman did undesirable stuff to you, you ought to respond back the comparable [or worse], then, the respond for the bonus question is that it relies upon on the folk, fairly than ideals a guy or woman beholds.

I would be shyer in person than I am in here with everyone. But, I would make sure that I wore a nametag with my YA name on it, so those who wanted to say hi to me would recognize me. I would drink a rum&coke or Malibu Rum straight up if anyone's taking advance orders. I would politely discuss whatever topic others brought up and would not be prone to starting a heated discussion at all.
