God does not force you to do anything but Satan does. He could make everyone believe in Him but what purpose would it really serve? That only proves you can make a robot. Religious wars are anything but religious. it is a trap of satan to force beliefs on those that really don't want to believe it that way. Shows what Satan is all about. God does not just sit back powerless. He will have His day very soon and Satan and those that follow him will be done away with totally.

God gives us all the power of choice. It's just that simple.
By looking at the world, and ourselves, we should be able to understand that something greater than just ourselves exist. We understand by reason of logic that men are greater (smarter) than animals, and all other lifeforms on earth. We also logically understand that we didn't create ourselves, or our world, and something outside of ourselves had to create it.
There is massive argument for/against evolution. But even evolution comes to a point where it says something had to create the gases that explode in the Big Bang.
For our own logic, we can access that there must be a Great Creator who did all of the things that we see. And this Great Creator gave us the capacity to question and to seek and find Him through means of logic (and not just faith).
Personally, I believe that athetists don't question enough. I'm assuming you're an athetist, but don't get offended. Since you're asking this question (albeit defensively), you're a step ahead of most ppl, athetist or not. I think everyone should ask questions about this, and about God, and not just believe any thing blindly. I believe athetists are so against religion/ believing in God because they don't want to just be led blindly by things that don't make sense. Great, I applaud that.. but the problem is that they just stop there, and don't think, they just rather exist.
My best friend's an athetist, I've had this conversation with him.
I don't think athetists are as open-minded as you guys want to say you are. The duty of every person alive is to question everything. Why don't you believe in God? No smart aleck remarks, just live in the question for a while.

If you are going to attempt to attack a faith, you should at least do it with some intelligence.
Read a book - or a thousand - on "free will". God sets the scene and allows man to choose what he wants. We are free creatures. God wasn't interested in building a clock that is completely predetermined. Its more fun to play around with things that act more randomly.
Look at you. You are hilarious: an ignorant fool thinking he can topple all of religion with one uninformed question. You are the very reason God gave Man free will: He so enjoys foolishness.

God can do all things. There is nothing outside his realm. He simply wants you to use your own judgement and come to him willingly. Not come to him like a trained circus poodle. You are to question the bible and find the answers in your own heart through GOD.If you ask him to explain something, HE will. God would not leave you in the dark in matters of the soul' It is up to you with your free will to be still and listen for the answer to your questions. If you do not hear it, you are either not listening closely enough or you are getting an answer you do not wish to hear.

God is not powerless, he just allows us to have our own free will, which is why you're allowed to question HIs existence. He wants you to come to Him on your own through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ.
By the way, satan was created by God to be an angel. His original name was Lucifer. He rebelled against God and took a number of angels (1/3) along with him.

Yes, we have our agency to choose right and wrong..it's not "free" agency because every choice comes with a consequence good or bad. As to whether we should teach our children our beliefs: Yes. It is our responsibilty and we will be held accountable for teaching them, not for their actions because they also have their own agency, but God expects us to rear our children in the gospel with love.
And yes, Satan is powerful enough to persuade men to do wicked, that is exactly what he wants. But cannot prevent him from tempting, it is part of life and God would not be a just God. Also, it was Satan's plan in the pre-existance to take away men's agency on earth, so that not one soul would be lost, but we would have had no chance to learn and grow, so God and us, chose Christ's plan, the Plan of Salvation.

That is what makes God so wonderful. He gives us free will. We have the choice to believe in Him and follow His teachings.
Satan is not more powerful then God he just likes to make more noise.
God is always with us guiding us, it is up to us to decide if we wish to listen, he is not powerless.
Peace.

He doesn't have to force anyone to acknowledge Him. We are born with an innate awareness of our being created as Romans 1,2 says. He allows religious wars because we are in the age of grace, but the time is rapidly approaching when we reach the age of judgment. Then "every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord!"
Satan's power is already defeated. It is the believer's responsibility in every age to preach the good news to non-believers. We have fallen into the ways of the world and neglected our duty. [Jesus died for you.]

>>>They (the Spanish conquistadors) did it (subjugated and mistreated the natives) for gold in the name of religion. <<<
The only ignorance I see is the ignorance displayed in your comment above.
The actions of the conquistadors were entirely separate from the actions of the Catholic missionaries.
Without the restraining acts of the missionaries, the acts of the conquistadors would have been a lot worse than they were.
Haven't you noticed that half the world's Catholics are in Latin America -- and in Latin America, most people have at least some native blood?
How could this be, if the conquistadors wiped them out "for gold in the name of religion"?

He will not "make" you believe in Him because He gives us FREEWILL.And as for letting your child decide on their own-NO-As parents we are told to raise a child in the way he should go and when he is older he will not depart form it.There is so much freedom when you develope a personal relationship with God.He commands His angels to take charge over you and He promises so much goodness to our lives why would anyone choose not to believe?
