I was wondering if girls just kind of say I love you to most of their friends as a casual thing, or do they only say it when they really mean it? I (im a guy, duh) would only say I love you to a friend if I REALLY cared for her (and I wouldnt say it to a guy, coz at 15 yrs old that would be weird, lol). But, so, do girls also reserve this for their closest friends, or do they use the term "love" quite flipantly???

I second your question and make it an answer too. The word love is abused to much today. When I say I love some one some time I'm just saying it. But when it all breaks down here's how I define love. It's agape love. That's A Gah pey pronunciation. It means unconditional love that goes beyond rights and wrongs, failures, faults, etc, it loves no matter what. That's what I'm saying when I say I love some one especially my future wife. It means I love you no matter what you've said or done right or wrong or anything I love you for you. Got it?

Well, I am sure every girl is different but for me I used the words "I love you" very sparingly.

I only say it when I really mean it as not to lead someone on. Also, saying I love you to a best friend and to a boyfriend are two different kinds of love. One is what you would say to well a best friend and the other has more meaning and passion behind it. I hope that makes sense but either way if I am going to say it, I really really do mean it.

Lately I have noticed that many people are using the phrase very loosely. When I say I love you, I really mean it. Love is about sacrifice and caring and I don't take that lightly.

There are so many different ways to love people. Girls are free in expressing friendship in term of love because they feel that for Friends. It is not the same kind of love they may feel for a guy. That is the deep and powerful LOVE as opposed to the friendship love. Girls don't go around telling all the guys they date that the LOVE them.

The only people I tell I love are my close family, my kids of course, and my very best friend. I am 26 and have only said "I love you" to 2 men. I have dated and been in relationships with others though. My first bf I was with for 5 and a half years and he said "I love you" first. It took me a while to say it back and Im not sure if I meant it. I said it to him everyday for years and didnt really truly mean it. So, I told my self the next time I said it to a guy I really wanted to mean it.

Oh i say it to everyone, my friends (guys and girls) and i just mean it in a friendly way so it's casual to me but a lot of other ppl wouldn't say that to their friends so we're all different in that respect. I do really care for my friends so i tell them i love them a lot but if i was inlove with a guy i would not say it straight away or all the time b/c it may come across as though i don't mean it. I would say it like i mean it to my b/f.

I say love yah to my friends when I like hangup the phone, i do really love them, as a friend, but that doesnt mean that I take it lightly. I am in love now, with an amazing guy and I tell him I love him all the time. He like you, thinks that girls take it lightly because he says "you love everyone. Now I dont feel as special" but like its just a girl thing i guess lol. Because I do really love him! lol. But I only say love yah to the people I really care about.
--->family, close friends, && my guy..

hope this wasnt too confusing! lol

I tell my girl friends I love them all the time with girlfriends it really is a friendly term. When I use it with a guy I really mean it. I don't mean it flippantly then. I don't tell my guy friends I love them either just boy friends or guy I want as boyfriends.

I say I love you to my girl friends cause they are close to me. Loving someone is different from being in love with someone. what is iit you don';t understand? of course they say it only when they really mean it. no it won't be weird. If you have a really good, wonderful friend ..you can say I lov eyou to them.
