Try Proverbs, something about forgiving once and being stupid enough to let it happen again. How many times would Jesus have forgiven him before he realized it was a lost cause. He also said to Mary Magdeline, "Go forth and sin no more!" It is a poor set of feet that lets the face continue to take a beating.

reminds me of the story about the Irish guy:
He had just clobbered another guy and his priest asks "why did you do that? Don't you know Jesus said to turn the other cheek?" and the Irish guy says "I did turn the other cheek but the guy hit that one too, and Jesus didn't tell me what to do when that happens"

he doesn't fight our battles.. he helps .... he is there so we will grow and learn through him.. so we can trust he will be there with us but we're in it too
