Florence hostels are usually around 30 bucks and the price goes up in the summer. There is a website (Twizi.com) that lists hostels that cost less than 25 dollars. They have a very good Florence page. Link below...

yahoo has a site that you can use to compare, and look at hotels, i think you can even book them on the site here you go click on it in blue below the text.
