ok here is more info
I am a 35 y/o, non smoking male. There is no history of cancer in my family. I was in for an abdomin ct that came back fine but they found 2- 9mm non calcified nodules in my left lung. They said i should not worry. And i should have a follow up ct in 2 months. A few questions come to mind now. If the abdomin ct scan showed these in my lower lungs is it safe to assume that the ct scan did not show all of my lungs? and if that is the case should I not demand a ct scan of my entire chest to monitor if there is more of them?
Also how common is this?
and what are the odds it could be cancer?

Calcified nodule is usually benign.
The 5 patterns of calcification usually observed in benign lesions are diffuse, central, laminar, concentric, and popcorn. A stippled or eccentric pattern is associated with malignancy.
A non-calcified and enlarging nodule with certain characteristics may be malignant. Series of X-ray may be helpful.
If the history is also suspicious, biopsy may be necessary. Needle aspiration/biopsy can be done as an outpatient procedure.
You should specifically ask them whether the entire lung was visualized. You can also ask for second opinion regarding the interpretation of the lung lesion.
It is difficult to say here whether it could be cancer or not. You just have to put it all together and have it looked at and go from there. If you don't feel comfortable with what they told you, you need to pursue further.
Best of luck.
