You actually get water from many sources, including food. All food has some water content. You do not say how old she is, but i suspect she is not a toddler since you are attempting to reason with her. I would not worry about it, her body will tell her when it needs something. Juice, milk, anything liquid will provide adequate hydration. You know, this water kick is a newer thing that has gained popularity in recent years (a good thing, of course). But, years ago, no one drank or ate in their cars, no one had a water bottle attached to their backpack or hip, and we all did fine. I myself went YEARS without drinking any kind of water whatsoever, only Pepsi and Mountain Dew - and caffeine supposedly dehydrates the body, but I was fine. I stay away from it now to be healthier, but it didn't kill me, and I functioned just as well as anyone else. Just give her juice or koolaid, milk, whatever she will drink. She will get enough liquids just by eating and drinking naturally.

she'll probably grow out of it. and she might be refusing it because you're always asking her to drink stuff. kids are weird like that. but if she drinks when she's thirsty enough that's good. the more you make a big deal out it, the more she will. my sister was the same way with food. if it gets really serious, take her to the doctor and maybe warn her that she'll have to go on an IV if she doesn't drink. that might scare her into it! lol but i would let it chill, see what she does.

See a doctor. There is an illness called Insipid Diabetes that is caused by a diminution of the production of the antidiuretic hormone. It makes your child not to retain water despite not taking so much of it. Maybe this is the problem. Just check it.

A hint, does your child makes high volume of urine despite she doesn not drink enough water to do it?

Water is boring by itself to a kid, keep adding different flavored fruit drinks that you dilute until you find one she likes. Whatabout making her a fruit flavored slushy? If you have a blender these are easy to make and use a novelty drinking straw too. You just have to coax some kids.

How old is your Daughter? Is she old enough to understand the severe risks that she's taking? If not, explain to her that she could end up in the hospital, or very very sick if she does not moniter her water intake. I had a friend who was in the hospital for 8 days because he was so badly dehydrated. Make sure she knows that she could hurt herself!

Let her drink something as long as she has some fluids its good, all i drink is water and gatorade, but if she doesn't drink water, make her drink some juice or soda or something of some sort.

That's nothing to worry about just as long as she does drink when she is thirsty.
