ok that is easy for me.... I have a former best friend... she costed my hubby his job because i apparently said something she didn't like, and didn't tell me. She was dumb enough to think that she could teach my daughter in Sunday school, and think I would allow her to do so. We ended up losing our appt. and since we had no car, no phone, no way to get another job, we ended up homeless. Ironically, he got his job back, and when we had to move, they offered to take care of my daughter ( i have 3, and the middle one was the only one they wanted to take care of) since we were living in a shelter. I thought it was the LEAST they could do, and i told her so. She still, to this day, calls herself a Chistian, and still teaches Sunday school, but we have nothing to do with her because of what she did. Whenever we see her, she tries to act like she did nothing wrong, and I call her a hypocrite, and she frowns and goes away. I still can't forgive her, because what she did was anything but Christian-like. We live in another apartment, in a neighboring city, but I can't seem to let it go. Even though hubby has another job., I still remember what she did. I feel hurt and betrayed, and I told her so. I also told her that she can't be around my kids because i will not allow a hypocrite to be near my innocent kids.

revenge? Don't know, but if that person was close to you it's harder because then you feel like a trust has been violated. Unforgiveness brings bitterness which destroys relationships though so better to try to forgive

We tend to take a certain perverse delight in being right about things. If we can dwell upon someone else's shortcomings, we get to indulge in righteous indignation and feelings of moral superiority. Further, occupying ourselves with someone else's failings allows to neatly to ignore our own.

The great thing about forgiving someone is it sets us free of obsessing about the person, and allows us to get on with enjoying our own lives.

Because we want justice, but God says, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." It helps to know that when we forgive, the person is not necessarily "off the hook"... there WILL be justice by the most high judge!

Oh and just to say i ain't a catholic, christian, just someone who believes in something higher.

sometimes the cut is so deep, that it's hard to heal. Once the trust is broken, then you can't be able to put it back. Takes time to heal.
