you take the roman numeral XI and divide it in half lengthwise so that the top is VI and the bottom is VI too (but upside down), roman numeral 6 .. good one. it's fun to do if you do it with toothpicks

no 2 goes into 11 5 time, and there is a remainder, so you continue it. 11-10= 1 so you add the decimal, and bring down the 0, so its 10, then 2 goes into 10 5 times. So the answers is 5.5 or if you want fraction form. the remainder goes ontop of the number that your dividing into. so it would be 5 and 1/11. Hope this answers the question. P.s the divide sign is represented by / on the computer. because a fraction bar means you divide.

12/2 = 6
not 11/2
11/2 = Five and a half
or
11/2 = 5.5
/ means "divided by"... unless of course this is that trick question involving the roman numerals (XI cut it in half and it looks like VI). I hate trick questions.

It's 5.5, but normally non-interger numbers are rounded up when they're .5 or above, so it would be fair to say that 11/2 is 6 since 5.5 will be rounded up.

5.5
5.5 + 5.5 = 11
Now if there were signifcant figures available it would probably be rounded up to 6, if it asked to round it up to the nearest whole number.
Darn she beat me by a click, that was the easiest 10 points I've ever seen.

11/2 is 5.5
there is no way it's 6 unless you round up BIG time
or, use the roman numerals whch are XI for 11 and, cut in half VI which is 6

X I (Roman numeral 11)
Divide that in half accross the center and you get the Roman numeral 6 (\/ I)
Mathew got it first acctually.
The question should read "How do you divide 11 in half and get 6?"
