Beaches, great music and great food. I'd say good looking women too, but my south american wife would smack me. ;)

Pollution-free water, beautiful coral, Irie people, great lobsters, warm sunny climate, clean fresh air, fantastic sailing, good Deep Sea Fishing, volcano tours, frigate bird sanctuaries, carnival and 20/20 cricket. I think of Antigua because from there I can take a 15 minute helicopter tour of Montserrat, a 40 minute powerboat ride to Barbuda and be with frigate birds and be on a 17 mile pink sand beach with just my wife and I alone with a cooler under a palm tree. I really think that the Caribbean is the world's best-kept secret.

My homeland...T&T...a place where people of all races have to the right to practice their own culture and exercise self-determination.

It's early in the morning, so I am a bit cranky...but alot of the previous answers annoy me. Hey, I'm with you people, I love the sunshine, beaches and food. But I will hazard that most of you sorry people went as tourists expecting your every whim to be catered to by the (mostly black) locals. I know it brings dinero into the economy, but, man, it makes my stomach turn.

When I go to T&T, I visit my grandma is a retired hostel manager, my uncle who is an airline secruity expert, my dad who is a contractor. My friends there are lawyers, doctors, computer programmers, social workers and actors. This summer I saw my Soca Warriors in action at World Cup 2006. When I think of Trinidad and Tobago, I think of a nation blessed with diverse and talented people.

And the same goes for the other islands too. I am married to a Jamaican and that nation has produced a wealth of athletes, musicians and entreprenuers (I realise the irony of the last one, as they tend to exploit the island for tourists).

Next time you're down there, I beg you, make an effort to know the real people and places. Don't be satisfied with the facade that you (over) paid for.

Love & Peace
