It doesn't effect me. They are simply stating their personal beliefs.

Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see. Don.t believe anyone. Believe the Bible. Either prove it or disprove it. Stop quoting crap that you hear.
There is no everburning hell.
The English word hell is written 23 times in the New Testament King James version. It is translated 11 time from the Greek word hades {hah'-dace} which means grave.
It is translated 12 times from the greek word geenna {gheh'-en-nah} which should have been rendered "Gehenna" or "Gehenna of fire". ". This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.
It is the place of the future punishment of those that will not enter into the Kingdom of God. A one time punishment not an eternial punishing.
An Italian Florentine poet, Durante degli Alighieri, better known as Dante Alighieri or just Dante, June 1, 1265 – September 13/14, 132, created the idea of the hell that is taught to the world. Through his stage play la Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy) the whole world has been and is being decived about a place that does not exist nor will it ever come into being.. The Divine Comedy describes Dante's journey through Hell (Inferno), Purgatory (Purgatorio), and Paradise (Paradiso). It was only a play, the works of the imagination of a man. However the Roman Catholic Church took the idea and ran with it and has long since convinced an unsuspecting world that the writings of Dante are indeed an acurate rendition of a place of eternal punishing of all evil people. God is in total disagreement with the Catholic Church and all other that preach and teach that there is an ever burning hell, a place of eternal punishing, a place where the evil go after death.
God tells us about a one time punishment, not and everlasting punishing.
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day is coming, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day thats coming shall burn them up, say's the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Malachi 4:3 And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, say's the LORD of hosts.
Do you get it. Burned up. Ashes. A onetime punishment. Not an eternal punishing.

Usually, I consider the source. If it's a close friend, or someone who's spiritually mature, I need to really examine my life and see what's going on that would cause them to think that. It's part of judging yourself.
If it's a cult member, or someone who's not a Christian - well. I doubt they really know what they're talking about.
If someone suggests that you're going to hell because you're an unbeliever - well, they're right - and you need to figure out why it is that you'd want that. Of course, there's a nice way of saying that. Sadly, some Chrstians are so zealous and excited that they forget that the Holy Spirit is the one who will talk to the unbeliever, and it shouldn't be them.

I believe in God, firstly.
When someone tells ME i'm going to hell, it's mostly a joke, said when I've said or done something, i've had no business doing or saying.
For those that don't believe in Hell, why even care or entertain the notion? You can't get your feathers ruffled over every little thing someone says. For some reason, religion always seems to piss people off. But if you don't believe, blow it off. I'm sure it's not the first time someone's said something that you thought was totally ridiculous.

There was a preacher trying to convert some coal miners to Christianity. If they didn't believe in Christ they would go to hell. Hell is hot, a place where there is no sun, no trees etc....They didn't seem to mind, being coal miners..... Only when he said there is no newspapers did they become disturbed.
But seriously - that's a really bad way to convince someone to take up religion. It means the person hasn't got anything positive to say - his/her experience of religion must be pretty hellish.

wow isn't that strange. yeah hnow can you go somewhere if you don't even think it exists. Hmmm....well i feel bad when they say this to me. yep it isn't nice to feel condemned really...in a way it is an empty threat...because if there is a hell then there is a satan and is that person satan condemning you to Hell? Interesting that people think that this is a valad insult. really even if there was a hell and i think that there is, then i don't control where you go but God himself or whatever controls the afterlife...which i feel is God. So then that person would have to in my opinion be takign the place of God by doing his job for him...and he is plenty big enough to make his own judegments....which in my case is that i am saved which enitirely backfires at someones feeble attempts to judge and condemen me to hell. I mean are they taking His place? and wow then maybe the are going to hell!

Last time it happened I asked for an explanation regarding Leviticus 25:44 and Exodus 21:20-21 making slavery permissible and I was told no it doesnt say that.
So, I'm being threatened by people who really have no clue.

I used to be Pentecostal, and was working one day in this local eatery when a group of guys came in that I used to attend church with.... One asked me how I was and how my family was. One said if I need anything to call him and gave me his number. The other said "we're going to heaven and we want you to go with us." I just sat there stunned. I was greatful for the first 2 responses, but the last one I just found rude and unwelcomed. I took it as a very rude insult and was upset by it until I realized that they believe what they believe and it was RUDE of him to assume that I had just given up all my beliefs. Just go the way you go, believe what you want and disregard rude, unwelcomed comments as just that- rude and unwelcomed!

No one has ever told me that because I am not going to hell. I guess if you don't believe in it you shouldn't be affected by it. But there is a hell and a heaven and I know where I plan to spend eternity; Heaven.

To be completely honest, I feel sorry for them. They live their lives inside a very tiny, limited box. They are unable to enjoy fully the life they have been given. This limited box also restrains creative thought - "thinking outside the box," describes it well - so they are limited in relishing anything that contradicts they belief system.
I find the entire business very sad.
