Sin isn't a word I use, but there are plenty of pleasures one can enjoy without harming anyone else.

"Sin" doesn't necessarily mean hurting others. It usually means enjoying yourself in a way that the Church disapproves of, such as having sex for purposes other than procreation, or drinking alcoholic beverages that are not part of communion.

These things are fun. The capacity to have fun is a god-given gift. Did god give us this gift solely to tempt us? If you truly believe that going to "heaven" precludes partaking in earthly pleasures like fornication and intoxication, then I sincerely hope heaven is everything you hoped it would be, cause you are totally missing out while here on earth.

God can give you a new heart which will enjoy things that are more healthy for you. John Piper is a good resource in this area; he espouses something named "Christian Hedonism." Very interesting stuff. He can be found at: http://www.desiringgod.org/library/what_we_believe/christian_hedonism.html

Life would be rather bland without sin... there are only so many times one can sing "Kumbaya" before grabbing a six-pack and calling the twins...

There are reasons God made guidelines-for our own good. It's a good feeling too, to know your doing it right and really have something to look forward to.
