Are you saying that you believe that Jesus Christ, God the Father and the Holy Spirit are one, and that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again on the thrid day, and that only through that death and resuriction man is saved from sin? If so than, yes, you are a true Christian, otherwise you are in a cult and need to really look at what is thaught in the book of mormon.

Jake....there is, was and always will be misinformation about the Church in the world.
There is a lot crap, just get used to it. The best thing to do is to know the doctrines, know the scriptures and to boldly, but kindly bear your testimony and to try and clear up misconceptions when you see them. Members of the Church have always been persecuted and always will be. There will always be people in the world actively working against the Church and what we as Latter-day Saints believe.
An essential part of the Plan of Salvation is that we all have agency, and we are all free to choose what we believe and accept. We don't force people to believe the doctrines of the Church, rather we invite them to 'come unto Christ.'
My mission president once told us, after we'd been experiencing a bout of heavy persecution in the mission field, that there is no such thing as bad publicity, because some one will see the falsehood and want to investigate the truth. Take comfort that God and Christ are in charge and that they will use the persecution, falsehoods and lies to the benefit of their work.
Take care, and remember to "put your shoulder to the wheel" and press on the work.

You are right... you are not polygamist... but you once were.
You were also once condemned for not participating in the practice.
You were also once a racist society, not allowing any race but the whites into the church.
Joseph Smith claimed that blacks are cursed to be black because they could not make a decision to follow God.
You believe in "a" Jesus Christ, but not the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The christ you believe in has a spiritual brother according to Joseph Smith, My Jesus is God's only Son.
Your image of God is limited, mine is not. Your god lives on a planet somewhere near the center of the universe, procreating with his multiple wives. My God is the center of the universe. Your god could not exist without spiritual parents. My God has always been everpresent.
As with most LDS members, I seriously doubt that you have ever actually read the un edited teachings of Joseph Smith and what his vision of the "one true church" was. I'm 100% positive that you have never read anything other that what the LDS church publishes about Joseph Smith. That is obvious based on your question.
Christ warns us to be wary of "those preaching another gospel.", Doesn't the LDS church proudly proclaim itself to be "another gospel of Jesus Christ"?
When Christ died on the cross and proclaimed "Totelesti" or "It is finished.", why would he need to come back to the Americas at a later date? Doesn't make since.
Trust me... these are not assumptions. I can confidently make these statements based on years of research of the Mormon faith. Can you say the same about your proclomations? You would be wise to take your own advice and not just beleive all of the crap that you hear about Mormons and study it for yourself.
I must say.... Well said slickboy

You do yourself nor The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints any favours by submitting questions such as this. This is not the correct way to "Let your Light so shine before men."
It is respectfully suggested that you take heed of what is known to be taught within the Church and that is to show love to all, regardless, by following the example of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and this is not the way that he woud act or expect one of his followers to behave.
As a member of the Church you have caused much offence, to me personally and no doubt many others, and being unusually bold in reply and not being in judgment, feel you have a real need to follow the principle of repentance as having a testimony of the gospel and all of its principles know, and if you are honest with yourself you will know, that it what you need and should do.

What's wrong with polygamy? The bible does not condemn polygamy. Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon and many other bible men were polygamists and god never condemned them. The mormon church should be proud of the original teachings of its founders Joseph Smith & Brighman Young. Seriously. If polygamy is your religion, then, damnnit, get Uncle Sam to recognize your religious practices, just like he respects American Indians using peyote in religious ceremonies.

So let me see if I am understanding all this, based on your ealier comments you believe that Mormons are the only acceptable religion? Now THAT is going to be a hard sale! By saying that you prove yourself to be extremely vain and self important, which both are against the Bible. You need to worry about yourself more, quit trying to save everyone else when you need so much help yourself!

I think most know all that and they just post that crap to annoy us and get us all upset. If people really believed that then they are really ignorant. Being that there are over 12 million members of our church, they have to know someone in the church and would know that we dont practice polygamy and that we are of course Christians since we believe in the Bible and that Christ died for our sins and was resurrected and through him we our saved.

Posing a question is this manner isn't going to do Mormons any favours, you don't need to be so angry about things. I used to be a mormon and its things like this that make me remember why I'm not one anymore.
Manners and politeness cost nothing!
