In the last year, my attitude has changed dramaticly toward life. I've picked up smoking cigarrettes, ive gained a few pounds, took 9 months away from college, now i have just recently got back into college this past week, and ive already skipped 3 classes. I havent dated anyone in the past year or more.. I really want to find a girl that I connect with, but I can't. I guess, what i'm trying to say is that my whole attitude is different, my self disipline is terrible. I cant stop smoking cigs, and I cant bring myself to go to class every day. I guess because I'm majoring in general studies, and I feel like an idiot. I dont know what I want to major in.. i just need some words of encouragement from you guys. help me out please...

I've been there. Skipped weeks of classes at a time. Dropped more classes than I care to admit. Had no ambition or direction. Switched majors in college many times, but managed to finished, nonetheless. Hell, even got a master's degree which took me over 9 years to complete. And I am far from being an idiot. Don't get down on yourself.

Try the university career counceling office for some guidance. It will be of help. Sound like you might suffer from some depression also. See a doctor about that, too.

For me, I quit worring about deadlines and decided to finish my studies at my own pace. People may say s**t about it, but ignore them. Don't go about life trying to please everybody or adhering to some idea about how you should go about living life. Choose your own path and don't look back. Enough women will appreciate your confidence and willingness to "be your own man," so to speak.

As for finding a girlfriend, do not go out looking like a slob. It will not help you find a woman. Take at least a modicum of pride in your appearance and act civil towards the ladies.

What you're going through is perfectly normal. You're at a crossroads in your life and you haven't picked a fork and it's getting difficult walking in circles. You need to take a moment and look at what you want out of life, your dreams and goals, more than not smoking and finding a girl that gets you. Picture ideal self in 20 years and start looking for the path to that person. You may not make it there or you might not even choose that destination in the end but it will give you a focus and start you moving again. College students are a lot like sharks, if they stand still long enough they will drown.

You've got in with the wrong crowd, tidy your life out by removing all the temptations, problems and things that you think lead you to living your lifestyle. And seriously stop smoking, its a major turn off.. and being in a relationship isn't the most important thing in your life at the momet, you should seriously get your ambitions and career sorted first.. picture yourself in 10 years.. where would you like to be? what career would you like to be in? how about what type of girl you want to be with? whats your life situation in 10 yrs time? think about it, and think positivly. Once you get the perfect lifestyle in your head use it to motivate you forward.. when you face temptation just think of what life you can have if you say no to it. About your course your studying in, maybe its not right for you, you need to find a course your truly interested in and motivated to do. Now go and have a good life, you can do it, i refuse to answer any more of your questions because im making your ego too big lol :P all the best, and quit with the negative atitude that will get you no where..

start looking at your future. Picture yourself skipping class and smoking cigarettes while everyone around you is progressing and getting a rewarding job and living a successful life. Take a drive down around through a poverty stricken area if you have one and picture yourself down there. WIth hopes and dreams but nothing to bring them to you. You have the opportunity right now to make something of yourself and it may be hard and boring right now but it will pay off in the end. talk to your counselors about what the market in the future will be looking for in jobs and maybe find something in that area that interest you. And use that as a goal to achieve. And maybe there is some where that you would love to live and be successful. You have to look at your future in a possible way and get off your butt and go and achieve it. It will pass you by if you don't act now and it shows no mercy.

Ok well first thing that you should do is attempt to stop smoking. Then you will be free from that addiction and you can take the next step towards getting your life back in order. As far as the girl goes it would probably help if you took your school and health a little more seriously. It might not be the easiest thing to do but it will definitely help you.

You have to make decisions and only you can do it. Wandering aimlessly is a good way to go no where quickly.

If you don't get out of bed and go to class it's highly likely you will flunk out and be looking for a minimum wage job to live.

We make choices in life, even not making a choice is a choice.

Women aren't generally attracted to do nothing guys. Because it's an indication of what they'd be like as a partner.

Only you know what's best for yourself. Never live up to anyone's expectations but your own. Sometimes you have to try things out before you decide that you don't want it or are not interested in it. Everyone in this world has felt as confused as you do at one time in their life. There are a lot of people in this world who have succeeded without a college degree. Just list your pros and cons in your life and eliminate the things that make you feel uncertain. If you continue to feel this way, anti-depressants always work. ;>

Sounds like you're going through a rough time. I could give you a lot of advice about ways to feel better about yourself, like hitting the gym or taking up some new hobbies, but I believe the only way you can truly turn your life around is to look to God.
He specializes in saving lives.
