I've learned that only a minority of people ask questions actually seeking knowledge on a subject. The majority ask questions to have their personal views validated.

Dear Khaeos,

I have learned that there is alot of false teaching on the religion/spirituality site. One must remember that the Bible is the authority, not the teachings of a church or organisation. When we attempt to teach anything from the Bible we must be sure that our conclusion is in harmony with the rest of the Bible! If a verse is found that contradicts our conclusion then we have NOT found truth! And if we teach this, we are teaching a lie! For example, I have seen here many people quote John 3:16 and they say that God loves everybody! But that is not true! Please see Romans 9:13 (Malachi 1:1-3). The Bible states: "As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." These are God's words, not mine. If we look at Psalms 5:5 and 11:5 we see very clearly that God Almighty does not love everyone!

I would just encourage everyone that comes to this section, please study the Bible before you attempt to teach something or answer a question. Asking questions is fine because the Bible is very difficult. But beseech(pray) the Lord for understanding and wisdom as you look into the Bible.

I have learned that people really don't care if they mock God or Christianity and they will say anything even if it is slandering God and Blasphemy.
I learned that a lot of people have strange views on the Christian religion and Christians themselves.
I learned that people are cruel and hateful and love to get things rilled up no matter what the cost.
I have learned that there are a lot of people out there that need to find God.
I don't visit other religion questions so I can't comment on those.

I learned that at least one form of satanism isn't about devil worship.

I learned that a lot of people have some very strange views on catholicism.

I learned that catholics (especially the women) got a REALLY raw deal in the christian stakes, more so than other christian religions.

I learned that catholics are against in vitro (imagine my surprise....)

I learned that catholicism is in many ways a much harsher christian religion; at least one with a ton more don'ts than others.

That's all I can think of. I've also had some opinions validated.

I've learned that No one is tolerant of any ones beliefs or opinions regardless of whether that individual is respectful or not which is so sad and immoral. The nice group of people who are moral and kind are Wiccans and some pagans. They don't push or attack others for believing differently from them nor do they antagonize. God bless them.

Some people are quite silly. Some people insist on believing really silly things, and the arguments they give in support of their beliefs are so silly it boggles the mind.

However, no amount of logical counter-argument, no matter how clever or convincing, will ever sway them from their silliness. I have given up trying to persuade them to consider intellectual enlightenment, and now seek only to amuse myself at their expense.

I have learned how to be on the intellectual front lines of spiritual warfare, and how the Holy Spirit can guide you thru the minefields.

reading these answers I've learned that unbelievers are as ignorant as believers in accepting what others believe. Unbelievers come here and act high and mighty because they claim to know the truth. They are acting just like the Christians that force their beliefs upon others and those that act superior because of their faith. I've learned that Christians on this site don't know as much as they should about Christ and the Bible when they claim they are such strong believers. They know so little.

I have learned that there are a lot of angry fanatics – Fanatically religious and Fanatically opposed to religion. Both types have shut off their brains.

I had no idea there was such hatred toward atheists. I continue to be stunned by name-calling on both sides of the issue.
