I went to the Opera and I wore a nice little black dress and my hair down, so I mixed a nice outfit with a decent hair style (instead of the I'm getting married after this look) and my boyfriend wore some black slacks and a nice button up dress shirt and a tie, it was perfect, if he would've thrown a blazer or the matching suit top it would've been too hot for him but even that looks very proper. At the Opera I saw ( I swear) people wearing from prom looking dresses to jeans an a shirt with a baseball hat on! Even though it is hot outside it will be cool inside and a nice pair of black slacks, a nice button up dress shirt and a matching tie will do. Have fun!!

Is this in the afternoon or evening? A Major presentation or a minor orchestral presentation? Were the tickets expensive?
Afternoon - summer apparel is fine, short sleeved dress shrit and slacks for men, light summer dress for ladies
Evening - suit and jacket, but not neccessarily a tie
Major presentation in the evening with an expensive ticket - tis' formal wear all the way
If it's less expensive, and in the evening, a minor presentatin - suit and jacet with a tie, and also semi formal for the ladies

if the concert is at a music hall, and the city symphony is performing, then formal would be appropriate. however, if it's a youth symphony playing in the music hall, usually the attire is semi-formal, like a dress shirt and a skirt.
you'll never go wrong with semiformal.

If I were you I'd wear A dark blue jean and a Blazer with a crisp white shirt underneath. You will look put together without being too dressy. Make sure you wear a dark was jean because it look more Formal. I dont know what the seaon it is there but on your feet wear some type of stiletto or stacked heal whichever is more comfy. Trust me a blazer makes anything look more formal.

If you can't wear "After Eight" apparel- AND- there's a general understanding in your area that formal-wear isn't appropriate for the current weather, just dress smart and comfortable. Business casual will probably be your best call. Good luck.

I went to my first one last March. I just wore a nice dress. That seemed to be the way most of the ladies dressed. There were a very few that were in long gowns, but not that many.
The men wore either dress shirts and slacks or suits.
Enjoy!

Wear a 'Wolfgang Mozart Rocks!' T-shirt if you want to be put on stage!!
Just kidding. You could probably get by with dressing casual-formal. Might as well be comfortable...

I would think a simple business suit for men and the equivalent for women would be sufficient. I have attended concerts in jeans and sweatshirts, it depends on the concert.

Three peice Black yes Black suit with a single big buttoned jacket with tails and a white tuxedo with a white tie NOT a black one.
Black polish leather shoes (must be tight) white laced gloves and a thin 1950's styled cigar will go down a treat.
A black or grey tailored long coat will also be complimentary

Just wear the same thing you would to a wedding or a funeral. Light colors are a good match for classical.
