A download manager is better as it will automatically resume the download if it gets interrupted.
So-called Internet Accelerators rarely work as advertised...personally I would avoid.

both are useless. The manager I guess is fine but the accelerator won't accelerate anything. It does nothing.

The default download program that comes with firefox is good. Most third party download programs come with Adware, so that sux.
