All guys in BCT love to get mail. Sit down a write him at least every other day. Getting mail is great. Send him a care package. When you talk to him or through a letter ask him is there anything you could send him. There not allowed candy are anything of that sort. Things like pictures, paper to write back,or anything like that. Expect a huge hug when you see him. He will be very glad to see you. You miss your family and friends alot while in BCT. Best of luck to you both.

I wonder if they still have the wooden barracks? Probably not!

Do NOT cheat (Be faithful), write letters to him while in training (about things around town -- anything EXCEPT problems), and just send things like stamps and stationary (letter writing paper). Believe me, he is VERY BUSY at this time, and will be very TIRED -- Training is physically and mentally challenging. Look in your local paper -- cut out his "Entered Basic Training at ..." Notice and put it on Scrapbook paper -- then get a camera to take with you to his Graduation -- and take photos. Once the photos are processed, mount them also in the scrapbook (along with the local paper's "Graduated Basic Training at ..." Notice too. This makes for a good memory of his first "assignment" in the military which he can take and preserve throughout his Military Career.

Write him everyday. There is nothing better when you are in BCT than getting a letter from loved ones. You have something to look forward too. Also, when he graduates in Oct. be there for him and let him know you support his decision to be in the military.

Make sure to write him as often as possible. Send pictures of you and family. He may not be able to write back tho. My son is air force and he said that words from home are best because they are really going thru some things that make them lonely for home. Tell him that there are lots of americans that appreciate what he is doing. He's a hero just by joining our military and i for one have the upmost respect for him. Good luck be with you both :)

Send him mail every day so that he gets something at mail time and feels special. Give his address to his friends and encourage them to write him, too.

Be faithful, write often (daily, if possible). Don't send cookies, or anything as he is not allowed to have them in basic.
