Yes, bearing arms was accepted. But doing violence was not.

Yes. Jesus's disciples were great sword fighters. They had to be because they carried purses and so they were often picked on for being gay even though they really were not gay.

In Luke 22:36: Jesus says "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."

Also it is a myth that Jesus was in favor of non-violence. Actually Jesus ordered cold blooded killings: Remember:

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. (Luke, 19, 27).

If present day Christians really followed Jesus's words. They would follow George Bush's example and Kill Non-Christians.

Well, what do you think? His disciples kept a couple of swords around and old St. Peter proved to be pretty handy with one when he cut the ear off the High Priest's slave!

Yes, Jesus supported the right to bear arms! Read Luke 22:36

And He said to them, "But now, let him who has a purse take it along, likewise also a bag, and let him who has no sword sell his robe and buy one."

He supported turning the other cheek, forgiving endlessly, giving generously and loving those who would harm him. Obviously he was not a candidate for NRA membership.
