simply don't uyse the poison... jsut use salt.. like the winter salt for roads so it doens't dissolve quite so fast. and jsut keep it applied to the area. slugs NEED moisture and therefore salt is like poion to them. and smails i am pretty srue are jstu the same thing as a slug.. in that they NEED moisture... so try that.. salt wont' harm your cat. unless it ingest too mcuh, which i doubt it woudl do.

NEVER USE POISON AROUND ANIMALS OR CHILDREN!!! Read the instructions, if it says it is animal friendly then use it. There has to be an animal friendly poison out there. Otherwise - unfortunately, I have to say - deal with the snails!!

Put the snail bait into a piece of pvc piping small enough so that the cat cannot get into it the snails will be able to get in and eat the baits

Oh please dont use snail poison! Use salt or something instead! Cats and dogs sometimes like the smell and taste of the poison, so you could harm other people's pets too!

I'm guessing you are going to be putting this outside in your yard somewhere, either don't allow the cat to go outside during the time you are using it, or wait to get the cat until you are done treating your snail problem

You can't make the cat avoid it, you would have to get poison that was safe for household animals.

Use salt or some other natural bait that is harmless to domestic pets.

Better yet, keep your kitty inside. This is one of the reasons why outdoor animals have such short life spans.

Very simple. Keep the cat indoors and you won't have to worry about it. :-)
