You want to make sure that you are getting all of the calcium that your body needs, and when you are pregnant or nursing all of your recommended daily intakes of vitamins and minerals increase. I would suggest that you get more green leafy vegetables and other sources of calcium to make up for what is lost by not having dairy. Also look into a pre natal multi-vitamin to make sure that you are getting the nutrients your body needs.
Check out this website for other dairy free calcium sources:

Be careful with nuts though. I think I've read that it isn't good to have nuts while nursing or pregnant, or to give them to children under a certain age - in order to avoid nut allergies.
See your doctor for more suggestions! Good luck.

Who's lactose intolerant?
Your baby couldn't drink your milk at all if that is the case.
It may be hard to find out what the baby is sensitive too.
You can avoid processed foods. Avoid wheat (a common culprit). Avoid dairy, excess spices, etc. Eat a clear, bland diet.

Soy products - Soy Milk isn't half bad actually. Lots of veggies too - the greener the veggie (or lettuce leaf) the higher the nutritional value. Good luck. It may be the baby has some acid reflux or heart burn. My best friend has a similar problem with her three month old - poor little thing has acid reflux. She switched the dairy she could over to soy-based products and just cut out cheese. Good luck!!

well you want to keep up your calcium so you should try Silk (a soy milk) its really good. Also instead of ice cream you could eat sherbert...there are lots of things for the lactose intollerant. Also...its weird but a lot of babies are lactose intollerant but grow out of it...both of my children required a soy formula but have never had any problem with milk or any other dairy product....Congratulations on nursing....enjoy your children--yet another miracle provided by God.

Drink Silk milk and use silk milk as a replacement in your cooking... I am Lactose Intolerant as well.
The Vanilla flavor is good to drink but in cooking use the plain..
Can be found in any grocery store. and is soy based and has added calcium.

Ask your doctor if you can take lactaid pills. If you can, there's a pill that you can get that you only have to take it once a day and you can eat however much dairy you could possibly eat and it's convient unlike the pills you have to take before every meal
