Vista is designed for especially games and also 32 bit apps, The reason Why you might not be able to run those app may be coz there might be some file missing, Since this is a Beta Version You Have Just log on to http://windowshelp.microsoft.com where you could find the files which you need.

This is the beta, so they probably have bugs galore to fix.
