do you mean picnic? Because I'm unsure what you mean by "picni"..so if you mean "picnic", i have a few suggestions that might be a little more exciting than just regular sandwiches and potato salad. You could make crab sandwiches or have crab on crackers, by easily just buying canned crab (which is much cheaper than fresh) and mixing it together with mayo, relish, and for some crunch you could add some bell peppers to the mix. Just remember to keep it in a cooler.
As for a romantic dinner, seafood works great for that as well! Salmon is always a great choice, but you could put any seafood into a red sauce for pasta, which is also very romantic. Serve something that you can share for dessert! Something chocolate of course...or you could serve creamy, rich chocolate pudding which is very sensual.

If you're going to a park that has grills, that's good.
Romance made simple. Here goes...
You got a picnic basket? Invest in one. They're great! They sell them with plastic plates, and tablecloths already in them.
Whatever meat you want, chicken, steaks etc, marinate in a big freezer bag. Prebake some potatoes to reheat on the grill.
Make a big salad, and put it in a zip-lock, also. Get the little glad storage containers to pack your favorite dressings.
It's hot, so pack some fresh berries, and maybe some cheese cubes for an appetizer while your steaks are grilling.
Buy some good wheat-berry bread from the bakery, and put in your basket, too.
If you want wine, buy the mini bottles for easier transport, if it's white. That way you can keep it iced in your basket.
Roll a fork and a steak knife together in a pretty napkin. That way all you have to do when you set your table is pull them out. Your steak (or chicken...) is all ready to throw on the grill, your salad is pre-made just the way you like it, your potatoes are cooked, and your bread is ready. The only dirty dishes you have is your silverware and whatever wine glasses you drink from. All the rest can go right into the trash. Easy clean-up!
Don't forget a wine key, and a spatula!

Go to the deli and pick up some chicken, some potato salad, some fruit, cut up, and some brownies...or make all of the above and pack it in yourself. You could do chicken wraps, hoagie sandwiches, grill chicken and make a pot of baked beans, endless.....romantic is all presentation and mood --more than what it is you serve!
A good steak and twice baked potatoes, fresh veggies, salad with special things in it like sunflower seeds, craisens, almonds etc., make it special..make a cream puff for dessert or banana cream pie, or brownies for dessert and you are on your way. Hope some of these ideas get you thinking and help!
