You have reason to be scared. Most teenagers will consider you to be a terrorist. Good Luck, you'll need it.

Wow. Don't worry. It's normal to be scared of new experiences. Most white kids are easy going, with the norm. Just try and be yourself. There are some kids who will be jealous of you probably like jocks or preps because they are not as interesting as you. Just ignore these people. There mad that you are stealing their attetion and will try to stop you. Just be yourself and tell all your stories. I think it would be cool to talk to someone who's been in such interesting places. Like I said before, most kids are nice, but some can be real mean. Don't worry. You'll add an interesting touch to your class. If you need help adjusting, I'm always available, (well most of the time) at jakegondidude@yahoo.com.
Enjoy learning...

I feel for you, going to a new school can be very stressful, fortunately you are in Canada (the best!) i remember going to school and there werent alot of people of color, but the ones that were there I dont think we looked at them any differently that anyone else, in fact we thought they were quite cool. try not to worry about it too much, just be yourself, be outgoing and get involved in things that interest you , dont let your fears hold you back. I think that anyone who discriminates makes themself look very uncool. If there ever really is a problem you could talk to your school's Guidance Councillor, they are there to help.

because you are normal, hun.
i think almost everyone is at least a bit nervous before going into a new situation, even grownups when they get new jobs.
the best thing you can do is stand tall, be polite and treat others as you would like to be treated. the first few weeks at school, everyone is checking everyone else out, so, just be good to yourself, talk with your parents about the good and the bad things that you see, and do your best. this is a great time in your life.
*hugs* and good luck!

New situations are always scary. It's the unknown. A lot of those kids have just as much anxiety as you do. There will be some kids who will discriminate, but I think you will find that MOST of them are nice, and good sports. Don't worry, Think of it as an adventure, and HAVE FUN!

They are probably as nervous about their first day too- The media has probably made you worry and that is unfair on new students studying abroad but don't worry. It will turn out better than you think and people will be kind to you. Most people are nice.

its really normal on the first day specially when u think too much that are not really true gonna happen..dont be scared.. you should be excited becoz you will find new friends and new people intheir different nationality..have fun, enjoy meeting them and be friendly..its normal sometimes they have some bad people with bad attitutes,,but dont worry its part of your growing up..you can handle them in a fair way..just look for good friends that will accept who you are..i know you will find more of them..
just gear up and be ready for the fun and excitement in your school..

bc youre nervous about all new faces looking at you, it has nothing to do with terrorist or etc thats a stupid comment. but honestly you dont know what to expect and its anew school, so you are also afraid of getting lost. you'll be fine, take a few deep breaths, and by the end of the day you'll have friends

That is an extremely big change, it is only natural to be nervous. Just be yourself and you will be fine, as far as the racial difference, every person is different, and yes you may be different in one way but that is nothing to stop you from making wonderful friends. Good Luck!

It's the fact that it's a new school,new people,just a new
environment for you. Once you get settled in the school
and make new friends and get used to the new environment,
you'll be okay. Don't get discouraged.
