People who like to solve challenges and to put ideas into reality. Many engineering jobs are same as inventors. Engineers put their scientific knowledge to work for the general publics for overcoming problems or provide better quality of life.

No sure about what is the physical activitiesl. I will say most engineers are working in front of computers nowsaday. Except when they are in the lab doing hands on experiements and tests.

Engineers can become managers, and advance upward. Engineers can become teachers. Researchers, buisnessman. Almost any non-technical jobs that require critical thinking and analytical skill.

1. Becuase the knowledge that is everything that is in earthly existance is at your fingertips.

2. I would say survey engineers because they are out in the field measuring sites a lot. But any field in engineering has it's fast and slow times. It's definetly a more mental occupation than physical. The design needs to work in your head before it can physically work.

3. Anything under the sun. I know a mechanical engineer that resides as the CEO for a vacuum forming factory. There are jobs in the medical fields, theoretical fields (particle acceleration), design fields (inventors), construction fields, agricultural fields, basically everything that is a type of engineer can make it happen.

3. Engineers can get any kind of job if you get a minors in whatever else you want to do while you are focusing on getting your majors in engineering. There are many different types of engineers though. The most well known are chemical, electrical, and mechanical though.

1.
Damned if I know. It's a lot of study in school and a lot of work for not much pay. And most of the best jobs are being outsourced to South Asia anyway. Plus you have to start dealing with age discrimination when you hit mid to late 40's.

2.
Civil engineers, probably.

3.
Place holders in unemployment lines, etc.
