These stupid ideas about food having "expiration" dates before and then after cooking are just things to get you to waste food and spend more money. If properly stored, most left over foods in the refridgerator last for a couple weeks and with a little extra work or by freezing can last for months or even years. Thimk of the starving kids everywhere in THIS country (not to mention the rest of the world) and you are all taught to waste waste waste. Rebel against your parents and read and learn.

If it smells fine, it is. I would say anything properly stored in the fridge is good for at least 2 days, maybe up to 4 if it is a cooked meat. Vegetables tend to spoil faster.

It is usually fine for a couple of days. Most Health Dept regulations reccomend that you reheat any food to 165 degrees or higher. Food in fridge needs to be kept below 40 degrees (internal temp of the food, not temp of fridge, usually means temp in fridge has to be set slightly lower than 40.
