A lot of science fiction is now science fact.
So is evolution.

It sounds like you put down people if they don't believe in your way of religion. I am not an atheist in any way but I do not say I have to be a certain religion to believe in god. Anything that will bring people together (any religion)in a good way can't be all bad. I also think everyone who believes in one way or another whether it be Budda or God,Science whoever that they are all on a journey with different paths to come to the same conclusion. You also say that the scientific evidence sounds like science fiction yet you believe in a God you can't see and a bible that has probably changed over the years. I am not putting you down for that it is your way of thinking. We will all find out in the end who is right or wrong and there is not a person on earth that has the answer.

Why do you equate atheism with the belief that evolution is fact? You're suggesting that if a person understands the process of evolution he or she would automatically become an atheist, implying that evolution somehow "brainwashes" people into embracing atheism. Does that mean that creationism is your only tether to Christianity? Does that mean that evidence of evolution would destroy your entire faith? You don't have to be an atheist to understand scientific truths. Or even an agnostic. You're confusing the idea of "God" with the bible, a book written by men a very long time ago. But facts are facts and truth is truth, and if there were a god as you believe, wouldn't that god be the author of science and truth?
Atheists reject religion for reasons other than believing the principles of evolution.

Fact, all religions are created by man to control man. If that is not brain washing then you sure have been. Oh, yes the world it flat and all the ossies are going to fall off. I guess I will also as I am on the other side. Or is it that you are. The facts are there that all living things evolved from one source. You are related to all living things and that includes the snake the tree and all other. It is religion that keeps so many people in war all the time. It has other names but it still comes down to religion. It is time to change and understand what is and not what you would like it to be. There is no God there is no Heaven. Religion was born of ignorance.

So we all should be Vedic, since it is the oldest religion still in practice. It's so much older than everything else that Hindu's can rightly call all other religions a fad.
If there is a divine, anything about it relevant to human life can be explored through some form of human experience. If we can't have some experience related to some aspect of it, then by definition that aspect has no bearing on us.
Last, I wish twelve men (by the story) had taken your advice to discount any information that was contaversial and relatively new to the world; then there would be no Christianity.

So did gravity. So did nuclear power. But guess what, you and I both know NOW that they are a reality. Evolution is more stable an idea than some being just snapping thier fingers (and doin a quick 2 step) and *POOF* everything just IS. Thats absurd. Science creates fear in weak minded people. In turn, the weak minded people (who can't come up with a rational explanation for anything on thier own) come up with a religion to handle all of thier troubles. An omnipresent being that creates anything in an instant, only shows his/her power in a destructive way (ie hurricanes, earthquakes, etc etc....you never hear of god STOPPING such atrocities), and determines what happens to my "soul" after I die? That doesnt sound too solid.

What happens when someone tells you, "you are brainwashed?" You fuss and fight and argue. What happens if they tell you, "you are following your choices?" Nothing. The whole point is to get a rise out of you. If they think we have all just made willful choices, they have nothing to use against us. It is a tactic to create influence and dissention.
If there was no empiracle evidendences for creation, we would still choose to believe. These are matters of faith. They want you to lay aside faith and look at evidence. We have been sucked into trying to prove faith. And I am not condemning those who attempt to provide Christian Evidences. Bottomline will always be about FAITH, and the Atheists cannot stand it.

some Christians sear by the bible ,when the book is truly fiction,it cannot be proved true, some Christians can only respond to questioning by reciting bible scripture or say they are saved, without giving evidence of the bible being true or god even existing,if Christians were not brainwashed they might understand a little better,NO ONE knows if god or the bible are real, the fact that Christians are so hard core in their belief, the way they express it,(not all of them)is down right chilling, cult like and weak minded.evolution sounds like science fiction to some Christians because that's religions ultimate goal,to blind you from rational thought processes, evolution makes more sense than spewing bible versus, belief in supernatural beings in the sky,and living in fear of going to "hell"if you don't submit to this "god"im not saying my non belief is the right one,but one should not be so close minded when it comes to religion

Evolution can be proved and peer-reviewed by others. If you have a hypothesis you can gather the evidence and demonstrate the facts.
I can look at the evidence for evolution, and make my own balanced decision.
With religion I am expected to believe on faith that what I am being told is true.
Brainwashed is not a fair word. Misled would be a better one.

"The whole idea of Evolution just sounds too much like science fiction"-And the bible doesn't? I find it hilarious that just because a bunch of sheep believe in the bible, which is the best selling fiction book of all time, they have the nuts to call what other people believe fiction. You all might as well worship Gandalf.

You are too simple minded and brainwashed away from real education to understand the theory of evolution. It may be over your head. I bet e=mc^2 is over your head too (it's over mine) but that doesn't mean it's untrue. God is one of many gods people have made up, and now we can have real answers to the big questions. People who are hung up on God either can't understand the answers or don't like them.
