I agree that I would prefer to meet potential partners through real life situations, however, I'm not single and some of my friends who are say that it's impossible. If most of your friends have settled down, then who do you go out with? And do you really want to have to go out on the pull and try and meet a potential partner in a pub??
I know a couple of people who are doing online dating and they're both completely normal. I just think that seeing as they're normal people doing it, there must be other normal people on there too!

I met my boyfriend on-line, and he is absolutly wonderful! He's SO good looking that I couldn't figure out why in the world he was having a problem finding women at all! But we have everything in common and we just hit it off. Things are looking really good and we are talking about our "future" together. It's not for geeks, it's for people who want to meet and don't know where to go. It worked for me. It also worked for my cousin who met HER husband on-line. They've been married now for a little over 4 years and they are as happy as can be. This is no longer the stone ages, take advantage of technology!

It may seem kind of nerdy to find someone online but in my experience, I found the love of my life on an AOL chatroom. I've also met alot of great people I never would have met anywhere else. I think its a better way to get to know a person before you base your judgements on appeareances, BUT its a gamble because you might not get what you expect so be careful. I believe fate brings you to the people your suppose to meet in your life be it online or not. Now that's romantic.

It's probably not just geeks and/or the desperate ... many people use online agencies to find a "bit on the side" ...
That's not to say there are no ordinary decent people registered who are genuinely looking for someone - there's probably 1000s - but sites like adultfriendfinder and s*xin theUK are geared towards "adult" lifestyles ...
I'd say sign up and have a browse ... most of them offer limited membership for free - just pay to join later if you think the site is OK!

I agree it is kind of unromantic, I think it's kinda silly doing computer matches, some people are not who they say they are and it's just kinda wrong, if anything meet from school or yeah maybe friends, makes more sense.

Of course it's better to meet people face to face, but there's nothing wrong with experimenting. As long as you're safe and sensible. I know a few people that have met via the internet and they're extermely happy. If you're shy.. ask a friend to do it too.

If you want to pick between the twenty or so eligible people you know go ahead. If you think that your ideal match may be a little more difficult to find then try internet dating.

I think its better coz you can kind of get to know people and take you time without having to shout at them across a busy bar!
