White vinegar is on top of the list of things I know. Let it dry on her head, then you must pick out every single egg from strands of hair. This must be done daily. White vinegar is useful because eggs won't stick easily to the hair.
Creamy baby oil, and a shower cap all night long should kill them, then rinse with white vinegar.
Remember to clean bed sheets, clothes, caps, etc too.

Don't worry, because the expensive stuff doesn't work that great anyways.
(this happened to my children, I know)
What you need to do right now is, pour olive oil, (or any vegetable oil) on there head, completely soaking her hair, because the oil prevents the lice from breathing, killing them. Soak for a half-hour, you can maybe put a plastic bag over there head and tie it. I did this in the tub, it's kind of messy. This is the best way to kill them, the school should have told you this. Any good doctor would tell you this too.
When your done, you can go through and pick out the eggs. You'll know they're eggs because they will feel like hard little miniature ball.
Also, you should throw your pillows away, and vacuum your bed, couch, and throw pillows.
Wash your blankets in very hot water.
It's not as bad as people make it seem, there just little bugs, no biggy.

Do you have a nit comb? you can comb out the lice and the eggs bit by bit from her hair. You would have needed to do this anyway since the shampoo doesn't really remove all the eggs attached to the hair.
Make sure you remove all of them; this can take hours! I was in an orphanage in romania to help once and we had to do this...we also cut the kids' hair however but its not really necessary; it was mainly to decrease the workload.
A good lice shampoo will be necessary however. See if you can send someone, a neighbour perhaps, to buy you one at the nearest pharmacy

Here is what you do. Take a small item (earings, camera, necklace, ring, bracelet) to your local pawn shop and get a loan for $20 or whatever the cost of the medicated shampoo kit including the comb and bed spray. Then friday you go pick up your item and pay a small fee. This is the best thing to do if no one will let you borrow the money. Lice is EXTREMELY contagous and if you don't take care of it now, your whole family including you will have it. God Bless!

you need to get lice shampoo now. fellow the directions on the box. then you need to wash all the sheets and stuffed animals put them in a bag( after you washed them) and don't take them out until everyone in the house is ckeared of head lice.
TO GET RID OF THE LICE:
use the shampoo
then use the gel
after you combed out the gel wash hair out
comb out hair again
blow dry hair
comb out again
comb everyday for one week
then retreat hair
*** don't use the rid/ any other lice killing shampoo more then once in the seven days****
hope this helps!!!

You have to get the medicated shampoo and lice comb. There is no other way that will reliably get rid of them.
I don't know what to say...
I suppose you could try going through her hair and picking out the adults and the eggs, but it would be a HUGE job.
I hope you find a way to pay for the shampoo.

You have to go to the pharmacy and get RidX. You'll have to wash all of her bedding everyday and vacuum everyday for two weeks. Lice is very contagious. Once you shampoo her hair, you'll have to comb it with a very fine comb to make sure you get all the eggs out. You don't have to cut off all of her hair, but it is easier to comb the nits out of short hair. You don't want her to feel bad about it, it's not her fault. You need to check her hair and everyone in the house too everyday until your sure they are gone. Don't feel bad, lots of kids get lice at school, it doesn't make you a bad parent or a dirty person. You just have to work really hard to get rid of them and make sure they don't come back. Good luck.

There isnt anyhting around the house you cna use ... you have to buy an anti-lice insecticide. Bed linen, pillow cases, towels and clothing should all be washed in water that is at least 50 degrees Celsius and dried in a hot dryer for at least 20 minutes. Dry cleaning items or storing them in a plastic bag for two weeks is also effective.

Yes! Mayonaisse works. It smothers the bugs. You will still need to get all the nits out of her hair, though. Just slather on the mayo, wrap her head with a towel, leave it on 45 minutes or so. Be sure to use PLENTY of mayo... as you want to smother the bugs. Friday when you get paid go get the kit to get rid of lice.
