Honestly relationships that are long distance like that Do not work out 99% of the time. With a child it would def be difficult to also spend time with you, but if you two are in the same town sometimes and still cant see eachother, seems a little fishy, like he is keeping you at a distance. I say end it, and see what else is out there for you. Good luck

Yes, it is possible to get that busy. You didn't mention how old his daughter was, but kids take up a very big part of your time- not to mention, he probably has more time management issues with his recent promotion. Since you know his schedule is so tight, maybe suggest to come to him for a while until he get a grip on his schedule. If he has no time for you to even come see him, when he doesn't at all have to go out of his way, then I would worry.
On another note, you two may see the level of your relationship differently. "We'll see what we can work out" is how you settle business deals not make plans to hook up with your girl. It may not be a bad idea to find out how he sees you, in his mind. You may just be another friend verses his girlfriend.

Yes People Can Get and are Busy...
If its been you doing the calling attempting to get together maybe just "Cool It" and don't call him for awhile... It'll hurt but remember the old saying If its love set it free and if it comes back then its true love or something similar...
There are plenty of fishes in the sea and if you maybe play a little hard to get maybe he'll become more interested as what you can't have you'll want that much more.... Mmmmm sound familar...

hmm perhaps there can be some communication so both parties can compromise and manage to spend good quality time with each other..if this cannot be done, and after long periods of not being together, the love may gradually fade, and the relationship might as well end now..thus it depends on whether you two are happy with the current situation

Yes, people can get that busy. But you really deserve someone who can give you the time you need. You can't foster a relationship like that. I've been in similar circumstances and while it hurts to end it, it feels better not being strung along.

Yes, especially if he has a child and just got a promotion. Hes got new priorities. Unfortunately, your friendship is a little lower on the totem pole.

Yes he could be that busy but probably isn't.
You can always find time for someone who is important to you even if is just a quick cup of coffee

most of the time no--but it is possible. Maybe you should just forget about that guy and go for one who will BE BEGGING FOR MORE TIME with you! Dwelling on guys just makes you go down miserable paths, just tell him "NEXT time your free, we should talk. If not, have a nice life." it may be difficult but you wont regret it. good luck

forget about him. If he was interested in u at all, he would make time for you. I am in the same situation right now after 3 years together. we broke up. He is just interested in himself. Dump him.
