As a Christ follower, you can never abolish the OT laws. Gods word is whole and complete OT and NT. They confirm and point to each other constantly. Yes, he gave us a "new law" because he fulfilled he law. However, we should not discount Gods laws. They are important for all of us.

You are totally wrong. Pauls said how would I know what is sin if it wasn't for the law. Jesus, who you say you are following, said, Matthew 5:18 "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished." Where did He say that he came to give us a new law based on love and grace.. Where did He abolish the Law. You need to go back to the drawing board and have another look.

The entire Bible is inspired by God, all of it is necessary. What Jesus said is the most important but you can learn from the entire Bible, though I agree we shouldn't just pick some verses out and not others. In fact that is the major reason there are so many different Christian factions, each picked out what they liked and left out the rest and they didn't always pick the same things. But we need the whole bible to learn what God wants us to learn.

Jesus said He did NOT come to break the old laws of the OT we still have to live by the Ten Commandments. We need the OT to go along with the NT so that we can see the whole picture. The OT is full of prophesies of the coming Messiah. The NT has stories of the OT. They go hand in hand. The only thing Jesus broke was the need for blood sacrifices to atone for our sins. He took that place. Thankfully all we have to do is believe, repent, accept, be baptized, and THEN live the way He told us, giving away with our sinning nature and taking up the cross and following Him.
And the ones that did all those raping and murdering, don't think that God didn't punish them. He didn't order for them to be raped, or murdered. He destroyed the world once for those things, He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of it.
He does not tolerate that kind of behavior.

brenda's world and other unbelievers, i would like to pray for you so that God may give you His loving Grace for you to know the Truth and that you permit Him into leading you to know the truth. Read the Bible if you need to know, but don't just 'pick' from here and there, because making a generalisation based on a few parts does not necessarily make up the whole story. God Bless you!!

Jesus said He didn't come to abolish the Law, but fulfill it. If the Law were irrelevant now, it would be impossible to sin, as sin is going against God's will, the Law. The Law still stands, but we aren't bound to it like they were. By obeying Christ and allowing Him to live through us, we'll obey the Law anyway.

I think it is alright to pick verses from the O/T. We must have a balance of O/T & N/T.
O/T like Psalms and Proverbs are good for us. Psalms teach us on how to worship GOD and Proverbs teach us on how to have wisdom.
Yes, Jesus said I'm the way truth and life. N/T is Jesus showing us how we should behave on earth.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in rightteousness, that the man of God may be complete for every good work." Not only that but Christ did not come to aboulish the law but to complete it, in that we no longer need to sacrifice animals for Jesus is the Holy and spotless lamb of God who is worthy to wash away the sins of man. Also the law is needed to show that we are unholy sinners without Christ, but with Christ we are set free.

I agree 100percent I see some of our christian brothers and sisters are going at it with the non believers on the internet but we cannot go down to their level we have to help them and lift them out of the confusion they have about God and the only reason why He sends His one and only Son in this earth to die for all of us. Of course they hate us but God says in the Bible they will hate you because of Him. Jesus is the only answer and the only way to the Father in Heaven, if they don't like to hear that then you have done your deed.
